Well, getting into the world of anime has its perks, and one of them is living your favorite character in a video based on the anime you like. So today, we have got you some upcoming anime-based games in summer 2022. When we talk about games based on anime, most of you look into the stereotype and believe it to be the same action-packed adventures that have been seen in the animated series. But this is not just about that. When games related to anime come out, yes, they do bring in the storyline for those you want to live the moment, but they also bring in features like live PVP, exploration, creating your own character, making your own story, among others.
No matter on what device you play (mobile, Tablet, PC, gaming consoles), there is a unique touch to each and every type which hooks the players to continue playing the game. Till today we have seen countless games that celebrate the Japanese art style for people to enjoy. This year we have been seeing potential arrivals of many anime-based games, and the summer of 2022 is going to be a banger.
So Without Further Ado, Here Are Some Upcoming Anime-Based Games in Summer 2022:
1. Fullmetal Alchemist
We are starting off this list with one of the most popular anime Fullmetal Alchemist. The anime is getting a free-to-play mobile game that will be available on both Android and IOS. The game is said to developed by a Japanese video game company Square Enix and will be released in Summer 2022.
Checking out the game’s trailer, we can say that it is going to be a fighting game similar to the likes of Dragon Ball FighterZ. The character in the game will feature the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, who will be playable characters. Along with them, the game will also bring in Winry, Roy Mustang, Shou Tucker, and Rose Thomas, who have been noticed in the trailer. It is believed these characters will come in handy while playing the game’s storyline.
As of now, the game is available for pre-registration on Square Enix’s official website. One thing that is going to stand out for the game is that its animation quality is on the next level compared to other anime-related games.
2. Black Clover
Next on our humble list is one of the ruling anime of 2020 and 2021, Black Clover. Fans are popping off with the animated and manga series that have pulled off over the years and now bring in a mobile game as cheery on the top.
Well, it is true that we are getting another Black Clover mobile game this summer. The reason why I said another is because we had the Black Clover Phantom Knights, which was a super hit. But sadly, Bandai Namco, the developers for the game, had announced to shut down the game in 2020.
Now we have a new game which is titled Black Clover Mobile. The announcement for the game was made during the Shueisha’s Jump Festa ’22 and is claimed to work on both Android and IOS. The game will be developed by Pearl Abyss. While a tentative date is not yet announced, the game is available for pre-registration processes. The company, as of now, is yet to give any further announcements regarding the game, judging by the trailer and still images. It could be an open-world gacha game. In terms of story, the game will follow the animated story, but it is not sure if the game covers topics from the manga chapters.
3. Overlord: Escape from Nazarick
Kadokawa Corporation and developer ENGINES went on to make people happy when they announced an upcoming Overlord game which will go by the title Overlord – Escape from Nazarick. Sorry mobile gamers, but this game will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
This game will be a 2D action-adventure game, which is set in the rich world of the epic dark fantasy, Overlord. This latest game series will be going around the original story, and to make things even greater, it will be overseen by Overlord’s creator, Kugane Maruyama.
Judging by the game’s trailer and still clips, the game gives out the old “contra” (from 1996) vibes with great graphics. The game has elements of puzzle-solving, maze completion, object gathering, fighting, magic, and many more. The game surely keeps you hooked on for a long, long time.

4. Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade
If you are a Jujutsu Kaisen fan and have a decently operating mobile, then now is the time you start to dance. We are now getting a Jujutsu Kaisen free-to-play game on Android and IOS. The game is titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade and will be coming out as an RPG game.
The game goes on to show the regular star cast of the famous animated series, namely Yūji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojō, and Kento Nanami. Along with these, there are also new characters that will accompany them in the game. According to the game, Saki Rindo, who is a new first-year student at Jujutsu High School’s Fukuoka branch, will appear and will look like a blonde girl in a long skirt and cropped uniform top. Another character in the story would be Kaito Yuki, who will be seen dressed similarly to Megumi.
Apart from the two, there will be more new characters to be brought into the game. Although there has not been much revealed about the storyline for the game, it is said to follow the animated and manga series.
5. Digimon Survive
Digimon has been a part of our childhood, and we never get bored to capture them all. The franchise has many games under its belt, right from the mobile version of Digimon Adventure to the pc version of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
Now the company has decided to bring another big release under the name of Digimon Survive. This game will be a visual novel video game having survival strategy role-playing elements to it. The game will be developed by Hyde and is said to come out in 2022. This game, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, will be launching for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
There is not much revealed about the story, but it may be revolving around the classic story that we all love and care about.
6. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
The upcoming game for the seven deadly sins franchise would be ‘The Seven Deadly Sins Origins’. This game is said to be a sequel to their previously released game ‘The Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross’. The developers for the game Netmarble stated that they felt quite limited in expressing IP in The Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross and stated that in order to correct that, they have prepared ‘Seven Deadly Sins Origin’ to more perfectly express the worldview of the Seven Deadly Sins IP.
‘The Seven Deadly Sins Origins’ as a game is said to be coming out as an open-world game and is based on the overall story of the Seven Deadly Sins. In the game, players can have a World like experience, traveling the continent of Britannia and completing various missions and expeditions. Unlike the old story, here, the time and space for the whole game are intertwined with Tristan, who is the new main hero for the game. Owing to the fact that the game is an open world, you can now freely move and travel around manipulating characters and also engaging in real-time battles.
Another aspect of the game that the viewers will enjoy is that the players can solve new problems and puzzles in the game, which makes it quite interactive. In the gameplay video, we have noticed yet another new thing, and that is you can find treasure chests by climbing walls or diving in the water. Along with this, it also noted that the elements of exploration would be described more accurately, such as using the character’s skills to build a bridge or fly.
The game ‘Origin of the Seven Deadly Sins’ is going to be available on the PC, mobile, and console platforms. Although the exact release date has not been determined, it is to be believed that the game will be out during summer 2022.
