Netflix is upping their game when it comes to anime. They have been doing a lot more anime stuff, and it will only continue to increase as the anime industry is growing every year. Recently, it was confirmed that Ultraman would be coming to Netflix worldwide on April 1. It will have a total of 13 episodes, and it is a 3-D CG anime series. It is being produced by Production I.G Inc. and Sola Digital Arts Inc. It is co-directed by “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” director Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki. Shinji is known for “Appleseed” series.
The anime is based on the manga of the same name which has been written by Eiichi Shimizu. It is illustrated by Tomohiro Shimoguchi. The manga has been running in Monthly Comic Magazine Hero’s. The original manga is inspired by a live-action superhero show which features Ultraman, who protects humankind from monsters and other threats.
The story focuses on a high school boy who is named Shinjiro Hayata. Shinjiro’s father, Shin was the first Ultraman. Shinjiro soon realizes that his father used to transform into the superhero. It also seems that Shinjiro is one of the few individuals who are capable of wearing the Ultraman suit, which is developed by Ide. Ide is a member of the SSSP (Science Special Search Party), which has become a secret organization to fight new threats.
