Hey everyone! In today’s post, I’ll be talking about Designated Survivor Season 3, and everything that we know about it so far. Before we begin though, I want to let you all know that the spot may contain spoilers. If you do not like being spoiled, this is your chance to click away. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started.
Designated Survivor has generated a lot of talks ever since it was canceled by ABC. The show was actually doing quite well, but despite all the buzz it generated, something didn’t sit well with ABC, which led to its cancellation. While we don’t know if the show will actually return, there have been talks that some other distribution company might pick it up, and if that does happen, we’ll get Designated Survivor Season 3, without a doubt.
Season 2 of the show averaged 4 million weekly viewers, and that was just one of the reasons why ABC decided that the show didn’t deserve a renewal. ABC president Channing Dungey explained why they went down this road with Designated Survivor:
“Creatively, we’ve had a lot of behind-the-scenes churn on the show in terms of the number of showrunners involved. We were less confident with the creative path forward than the other shows we brought back,” he explained.
But will another distribution company pick it up? We’ve been led to believe that it may happen, but ‘nothing is ever set in stone.’ Chances for a return are high, but it isn’t 100% yet.
Designated Survivor Season 3 Release Date?
Designated Survivor Season 3 will likely not be out this month. Usually, the show comes out in September, but since we don’t have any news about it having been picked up by another distribution company yet, it’s going to take time. We don’t know when Designated Survivor Season 3 will be out, but we expect an announcement on that very soon.
