TD’ has had a tumultuous journey over the years. Season 1 was a massive hit; Season 2 saw rating’s dip. The existential cop pairing of Rust Cole and Marty Hart was admired though. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star as Rust and Marty respectively.
The fate of Season 3 of ‘TD’ was debated all along. It looked a bleak prospect at the time. But I have been through various news reports that suggest not only is ‘True Detective’ going to happen but it is actually happening.
‘True Detective’ Season 3: Trailer
‘TD’ is a show owned by HBO. On August 26th, 2018, HBO unveiled the first full-length trailer of the series 7. It kind of looks like Season 1’s theme is back.
Wayner, as you may have seen, is working to uncover the story of missing children in Southern Missouri. We then see him revisit his past and he’s reminded of his family.
‘True Detective’ Season 3: Cast
Mahershala Ali of the famous ‘Moonlight’ is cast in Season 3 of True Detective. His casting was officially confirmed last by HBO. He plays Waynes Hayes, who’s a detective from North Arkansas.
Amongst the new additions, Carmen Ejogo will join TD as Amelia Reardon; Scoot McNairy as Tom as “a father who suffers a terrible loss that ties his fate to that of two state police detectives over ten years.”
Mamie Gummer is cast to play a young mother namely Lucy Purcell who is at the center of a crime. Rhys Wakefield, Jon Tenney has joined the cast and so has Michael Greyeyes.
The regular cast of the show includes:
Ray Fisher will portray Freddy Burns in the show. Deborah Ayorinde will be back as Becca Hayes, Stephen Dorff as Detective Roland West, Josh Hopkins as Jim Dobkins, Jodi Balfour as Lori, and Chavis as Wayne Hays’ (Ali) son at age 9.
‘True Detective’ Season 3: Release Date
Pizzolatto and David Milch have written the script for ‘True Detective.’ As per recent HBO confirmation, we know that ‘TD’ is back on our screens in January of 2019.
The official synopsis of ‘True Detective’ reads:
“The next installment of True Detective tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
