Top 10 Xbox Series X Games To Try Right Now

Xbox Series X Games

Microsoft announced their latest gaming console, The Xbox Series X 4 months ago. There haven’t been a lot of games that are exclusively made for this console since this one is very new. Along with Xbox Series X, Microsoft has also launched a cheaper variant of their next-gen console which is the Microsoft Xbox Series S. Just like Sony’s Play Station 5 a lot of games have been revamped for Microsoft’s latest gaming console.

There are quite a few good ones and you can get some really good games from the Xbox Game Pass. Let us have a look at the 10 best games which you can enjoy on your brand-new Microsoft Xbox Series X gaming console for now.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is an expansion of the action-adventure RPG Destiny 2 which was launched in the year 2020. The game on Xbox Series X is an upgrade in graphics and also in gameplay. There is a 4K resolution available to play at 60fps. There is also cross-gen support available for this game.

Destiny 2 is about Eramis, the protagonist. Eramis wants to use the power of Darkness to save the people of her planet and take revenge against the Traveler back on Earth.

If you look in story-wise, then this isn’t a great game compared to the main Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is one of the best games ever but this expansion doesn’t live up to the standards. Even then this game has made the list because it is still a good game to try on your Xbox Series X.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Yakuza: Like a Dragon was one of the highest grosser of 2020. This game is an RPG action game published by SEGA. The main-story is the main highlight of this game. The plot is gritty and the powerful Xbox Series X makes the city of Tokyo much more beautiful.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a family cum mafia cum drama game that has so much to offer right from the cutscenes to its unique combat system and great game mechanics. It is a must-try game for sure if you own an Xbox Series X.

Watch Dogs Legion

Watch Dogs has been one of the top-tier franchises in gaming. It has always been compared to GTA due to similarities in its vast open world and online mode. Watch Dogs: Legion was launched in 2020 by Ubisoft. It is the third sequel in the Watch Dogs gaming series.

Watch Dogs Online

The game has a great storyline and good narratives. The graphics are in general very good even on the older consoles, the next-gen consoles take it to the next level. The ‘play-as-anyone’ system is something new and unique. It has not been crafted perfectly as we have seen something like this for the first time. That doesn’t change the fact that it is a very well-made game overall.

Watch Dogs Legion has a good long storyline and will keep you engaged for hours. The beautiful city of London is very well captured by the Xbox Series X.

Forza Horizon 4

Forza Horizon 4 is Microsoft’s is probably an answer to all the racing games around the world. It is one of the best racing games, if not the best. This game was launched in 2018 and it is available to play across all platforms.

Forza Horizon 4 Xbox Game

Forza Horizon 4 Xbox Game

The Xbox Series X version is a remastered one that improves on the graphics and game mechanics. The graphics are already sublime. Xbox Series X will give you better particle effects and reflection probably. I wouldn’t be wrong if I said Forza Horizon 4 is a benchmark for all the next-gen racing games.

If you are a huge fan of racing games then you have to try this regardless of your console. If you have the Series X console, then it is a bonus for you.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was launched in 2020. It is the 22nd game in the popular Assassin Creed franchise. This game is an action RPG game and is available across all platforms. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a visual treat.

assassin creed valhalla

If we talk about the plot, this game is set in between 872-878 AD. You play as Eivor, a Viking raider who leads his army to invade the British Empire.

On Xbox Series X, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be all about its surreal graphics experience. The detailing in the open-world is quite amazing. 4K support at 60fps works like butter. You won’t be able to take your eyes away once you start exploring in the game. This game deserves to be played if you have the Xbox Series X.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

How can an Xbox list be incomplete without a HALO game? Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundles the best of the HALO series in one. It is a collection of 6 games. The game was originally launched in 2014.

Halo Infinite

Except for HALO 5, you will get every game in this bundle. You can re-live all the classic missions and action scenes now in 4K and at 120 fps. You won’t get graphics like Watch Dogs or Valhalla since it is quite old but HALO is famous for its plot and its gameplay.

HALO: The Master Chief Collection is worth your time and you won’t get disappointed playing it.

Gears 5

Gears 5 is an action-packed fps game that was launched in 2019 by Xbox Game Studios. It is one of the most visually pleasing games on Xbox Series X. This game has done well since its launch on all platforms.

If we talk about the plot, it is in continuation with Gears of War 4. In this game, you play as Kait. You have to find out the origins of Locust(a region), and also you will get to know about the hidden secrets of your family history.

Gears 5 has been upgraded for the next-gen console by Xbox. Support of raytracing, 120fps in multiplayer makes the game visually pleasing, as I said above. If you didn’t give it a shot last year then this is a great time to begin playing on your Xbox Series X.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was launched back in 2019 by Activision. It is an action-adventure third-person game. This game was very popular among the critics and then slowly it gained its traction in the masses.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you play as a shinobi named Wolf. Wolf is set on a journey to go up against a samurai clan who has kidnapped his lord. The game setting and locations are really great with a very good background sound. There has been an upgrade to 60fps which will make your game experience smoother.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a great game to play and pass your time if you have the Xbox Series X. If you have never played this game then surely play it and if you have already played it, then try it once again and experience the difference in quality between both the older consoles and the next-gen console.

NBA 2K21

Well, we don’t often see a sports game in such lists but since the console is relatively newer and there aren’t many great titles, NBA 2k21 has made its way to the list. NBA 2k21 is a basketball game launched in the year 2020 by 2K games.

nba 2k21

Not saying the game is bad in any way but action-adventure games, fps, and RPG games always have an upper hand. If you are a great fan of the sport then only you think about trying that particular sports game. NBA 2k21 has been upgraded for Xbox Series X which shows major improvements in graphics, 4k at 60fps makes the game so smooth. You can probably feel every ankle breaker and see the sweat drops on the players.

NBA 2k21 is a fun game to play with a very well-written career mode. If you have some knowledge about basketball then surely you can jump on to it. If you don’t and want to gain some info on the sport, then you can jump on to this game.

Red Dead Redemption 2

It had to be there. It just had to be there. RDR  2 is one of the best games ever on any console let alone Xbox Series X. RDR 2 is a game that has been made to perfection. This game had so much hype before its launch. It also had a lot of expectations and it has stood on it.

RDR 2 is about revenge, mafia, and family. The plot is a bit detailed to discuss here. Why spoil the fun anyways. Start the journey in the boots of Arthur Mosey and discover what comes in your way.

Games With Amazing Stories

There hasn’t been an upgrade for Xbox Series X but I don’t think it needs one. Yes, 60fps at 4K would have been amazing but the game is already amazing when it comes to graphics. The only downside would be slow performance as you would be used to lightning-quick response time and booting on Xbox Series X. Regardless of that this game is a must-play. You cannot miss this gem of a game.
