This time, CloverWorks revealed an original anime by Naokatsu Tsuda, the director of a brilliant series like JoJo. The anime was announced not too long ago, and we have every steaming detail released so far. CloverWorks has worked on several impressive projects, including Darling in The Franxx, Horimiya, and even Wonder Egg Priority. The creators updated the audience with some awesome key visuals that have had us all hyping over the Tokyo 24th Ward release date.
The anime is an original, so we do not know any more than what the creators have revealed to us so far. However, from the flow of details so far, it is quite confirmed that the anime is probably going to grab our interest. What is Tokyo 24th Ward About?
Tokyo 24th Ward is set in an artificial island in Tokyo Bay referred to as a “Special district outside the law of the Far East”. They are commonly known as the “24 wards”. The anime’s main characters are Shuta, Akagi, and Kouki, who were born and raised in the 24th Ward. The three have different personalities, hobbies, and family backgrounds, but they harbor a deep friendship. Being childhood friends, they would often hang out. However, their relationship is put through a huge strain followed by a certain incident. Their entire relationship has changed.
But, a year later, after the huge incident, something suspicious happened. The three friends meet coincidentally, and their phones begin to ring at the same time. It’s an incoming call from a dead companion, who urges them to make “future choices”. They are shocked, but they realize that threat is about to fall upon their beloved 24th Ward. Thus they must protect it with all they have.

Tokyo 24th Ward Release Date
The story so far looks quite interesting. Tokyo 24th Ward was announced on 24th October 2021. The anime will premiere in January 2022. This is quite early for an anime announced in Fall. Nevertheless, with the plot, we are more than curious to watch what happens in the story.

Additionally, the creators also uploaded the first key visual of the anime. There has been no revelation regarding its licensors, nor has there been any updates about a specific release date.

Along with the massive revelation of the release date, the official Twitter page also updated the audience with a Promotional Video revealing the cast of the main characters.

The anime has cast Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro, Uenoyuma) as Ran Akagi, Kaito Ishikawa (Tobio Kageyama, Iida Tenya) as Kouki Suido, and Enoki Junya (Itadori Yuji, Jack) as Shuta Aoi. The three cast members have extremely good relations, even off-screen. We are looking forward to seeing their roles in the upcoming anime.

Staff
Tokyo 24th Ward also has a great staff behind its production. It is animated under CloverWorks studio. The anime is written by Baio Shimokura (from Nitroplus). Naokatsu Tsuda is directing the series and also composing the script with Baio Shimokura. FiFS (Shuji Sogabe and Kanako) are drafting the characters and Takahiro Kishida is designing the characters. Finally, Hideyuki Fukasawa is composing the anime’s music.
