‘Thirty-Nine’ Episode 8 will bring surprising changes in everyone’s life. Mi Jo makes a great bond with Seon Woo’s sister as they go out for dinner. Joo Hee visits Hyun Joon and they spend their night drinking beers and complaining about their jobs. When he tells Joo Hee why he quit his hotel chef job, she is very inspired. The next day, when Joo Hee encounters a rude customer she tries to endure the humiliation once more. However, this time she quits her job and treats the customers the way she deserves.
What Happened In The Previous Episode?
Till now, we have seen that Seon Woo meets his sister after very long but in very unlikely circumstances. After having a fight with her brother, So Won decides to visit him at his clinic. Things are still tense between them till they go out for lunch. There Seon Woo tells her that he won’t ask her any questions as he knows that it will be difficult for her. Later, when Seon Woo’s father comes to Korea to find him, Seon Woo realizes that he is the one who made So Won run away.
This revelation creates a crack between Seon Woo and his father and he spends his night worrying and crying. The next day, Mi Jo visit Chan Young’s parents with her. Moreover, she is there to become Chan Young’s support. However, at the end of their visit, Chan Young hugs her parents with wet eyes but does not tell them that she has cancer. After returning to the clinic, Mi Jo’s sister calls her and asks her to check on Seon Woo as he is not feeling well. When she arrives at his place they have an honest talk about Seon Woo’s sister. Also, he asks Mi Jo to be his girlfriend.

Family Dinner With Seon Woo’s Father
Seon Woo invites So Won to have dinner with him and Mi Jo as he wants to introduce them to each other. As they are leaving the clinic Seon Woo’s father arrives. He is shocked to see So Won there with his son. Also, he seems a little disappointed as he thought that she is gone for good. Later, he joins them for dinner and keeps belittling So Won for being an orphan and for her manners. At this point, Mi Jo jumps in to defend So Won and tells Seon Woo’s father that she is also adopted.

Chan Young texts Joo Hee to ask her mother about the other workers she knew at the Siloam snack bar. She thinks that one of the workers could be Mi Jo’s biological mother. However, when Joo Hee asks her mother about it she seems to be taken aback. She ends the conversation by saying she does not know anything about it. She goes to her room and pulls out a letter in the dark. Outside the letter, Mi Jo’s mother’s name is written. Also, we find out that she was in prison when she sent the letter.
