The announcement was made along with the first key visual of the upcoming anime film. It seems highly possible that the film will premiere in the Fall of this year. The movie’s animation production will be done by CLAP under the direction of Tomohisa Taguchi

Plot
The Tunnel To Summer, The Exit Of Goodbyes is an award-winning light novel that revolves around two concepts: Love and time travel. The Urashima Tunnel is popular for the rumors surrounding it, which stated that it is not bound to the laws of space and time. Anyone who walks through will get what they most desire but what they must give in return is their own life span. When high school student Tono Kaori discovers a tunnel that matches the description of the infamous Urashima Tunnel, he can’t help but think of his deceased sister, Karen. As he wonders what he should do next, he finds out that the new transfer student, Anzu Hanaki, has followed him. She offers to help him explore the tunnel, but her motives remain unclear and mysterious.
