Pyo In Sook got her happy ending at the end of the day. Tears in eyes and a warm smile on her face. That’s what made everything alright for her. The troubles and pain she endured since her childhood made her what she was in the present, and all in all, that was beautiful.
Growing up with a short temper and poor financial support, In Sook learned a lot about life. And when the news of her brain tumor stuck in, she was fazed but collected.
From fighting for San Ah to fighting for herself, In Sook came a long way. Her character development throughout the series left everyone in awe. Her life took a sharp turn with the murder of San Ah’s abusive father. Being tangled in the mysterious murder case, she met Min Woo Cheon, who was the same boy she saved back in her childhood from dying in a car accident.
Moreover, after lots of running, hiding, enduring, and crying In Sook finally accepted the truth and learned to live with the help of the people around her who loved her a lot. Mi Do and Se Yeon played a big part in the development, and Min Woo Cheon was her anchor forever.
She gave in to her grandmother’s wish to go through surgery again. Though she has accepted the fact that she was going to die, Min Woo Cheon filled her with a new hope. And, from an alley cat, she became a person who expressed everything freely and smiled warmly. The risky surgery became a successful one for her. She got another chance in life, which she is going to spend happily with Woo Cheon by her side. And, of course, create thousands of new memories.

Min Woo Cheon: ‘I Hated How Lonely I Was’
Min Woo Cheon got his new beginning with the end of “The One and Only”. From a lonely and closed-off person, he became a lively and more expressive one.
Since the beginning of the series, he was someone who spoke less and observed more. Being a killer didn’t help the situation either. Having a rough childhood and no one around to talk with, Woo Cheon had a very lonely life but refused to agree with the same. He always closed the blinds of his room and never came lowered his walls.
Though everything changed when he found Pyo In Sook, Mi Do, and Se Yeon hitting San Ah’s father with a golf stick. From taking San Ah’s unconscious body to In Sook’s home to helping in hospice he started to open up. It won’t be wrong to say that fates played a big role here.
He decided to live openly and freely after meeting In Sook. He wanted to live for her and also wanted her to live for him. With the episodes passing by, the developments that came in his personality were really admirable.
Moreover, his sharp brain and fast reflexes made him the hero inside. He always stood like a wall in between troubles and In Sook. His whole life’s motive became to start afresh, and that motivated him to give in to his crimes and surrender himself to the police.
Though, after there was no evidence found against him despite his confession, he was released from the prison cell. In the midst of all this, the viewers also noticed that his relationship with his brother became sweeter and warming. They both had each other’s back till the very end, and that made everyone fall in love with the duo.
All in all, he went to meet In Sook just after his release, and the look in his eyes said everything.
Pyo In Sook and Min Woo Cheon: ‘Will You Live for Me?’ ‘I Will’
The adorable duo of the show made everyone sob, laugh, blush, and hope. It was extremely giddy and beautiful to watch Min Woo Cheon fall in love with Pyo In Sook even after knowing that she won’t be by his side for long. It was beautiful when he asked her to hold his hand and just forget every pain. And, it was beautiful when he held her close and said that everything would be okay.
They were anchors for each other. They pulled each other out of the deep dark abyss. Tangled in the mass murder case Woo Cheon did everything to keep In Sook safe. And In Sook did her best to keep Woo Cheon out of any kind of danger that might creep in.
They always made sure of each other’s comfort and watching them snuggled together at the end of the day despite the troubles snogging outside made everything more emotional and giddier. In Sook taught him to dream, hope, and express, while Woo Cheon taught her to live, endure, and smile. They were a match made in heaven and the viewers out there agrees with the same.
It was really emotional to watch them going on dates, planning various trips, and designing their dream house. We bet that each one of us cried when Woo Cheon said that he couldn’t live without her and asked her to live for him.
Even though In Sook lost some of her memories after the surgery, she remembered him. And even when Woo Cheon was inside prison, he had their memories with him which he lived every day. They lived for each other, and at the end on the bridge, they promised a forever, again. And if there is any ‘The One and Only Season 2’ coming up, we might see their happy days together in it.

Seong Mi Do: ‘I Have Finally Learnt to Love Myself’
Seong Mi Do was the savior for everyone in the show. Indeed, she appeared to be self-centered and filled with attitude in the beginning, but as the story progressed, she became the one who saved everyone from getting crushed under the murder trap. Being a social media influencer and filled with loneliness in her life, Mi Do never knew what real happiness was like. After finding out about her terminal illness and shifting to the hospice, she found reasons to bring a change in herself.
When Ji Pyo proposed to her for marriage, she was high up in the sky. But after finding out the truth, she hit rock bottom. Mi Do tried a lot to ignore reality and live her dream life with Ji Pyo even when she didn’t have many days left. But the situation played according to the fates, and she found herself exposing dirty secrets and trap of Ji Pyo to everyone out there.
She uploaded the video of the internet where all his dirty secrets were revealed. The police caught on to things, and the mystery was solved at the end of the day. Though, she was not lucky with her life. Losing Ji Pyo made her learn to love herself, and with it, she became a completely new and fresh person. Her disease started to get worse, and she was not able to make it through. Moreover, we are sure that she was THE CHARACTER of the show.

Ku Ji Pyo: ‘I Have Not Done Anything Wrong’
Ku Ji Pyo was caught red-handed and got all the deserved punishments for his sins. His manipulative self indeed did a good job in keeping everything a secret. But his plans failed miserably when Mi Do slapped the truth on his face. She confronted him and made him admit that it was all him who killed Park Doo Jin and revealed In Sook’s whereabouts.
After his truth was revealed to the world, he approached his father to help him about the whole mess but faced a furious rejection from the latter. Trying to run away from his crimes, he stumbled across his partner in crime. But everything backfired when he was caught by the police and ended up being charged with the same.
