Amazon Golden Globe-winning series – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is finally returning for the Second Season! Amazon renewed the series for a second season after the series was a big hit and gathered an IMDb rating of 8.7. Also, in May 2018, Amazon renewed the series for a third Season even when Season 2 wasn’t still premiered!
For those who don’t know, the story in the series revolves around the life of a housewife in 1950’s, Mrs. Maisel played by Rachel Brosnahan who discovers that she has a knack of stand-up comedy. The story then goes around the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and her Marvelous journey.
The Second Season will pick the story from where the first Season left. Second Season will show whether she will pursue her career or not. Also, her relationship with her husband who found out in the season 1 finale will also be explored.
In an interview, Rachel said that her character is ‘wife…ish’ which makes things a little tricky. Here’s her full statement –
“She’s a mother and a daughter and a wife…ish. By the time we leave her at the end of season one, she’s a working woman with a job, and she’s also trying her hand at stand-up comedy. And those three worlds, they don’t work together very well. So I look forward to watching her struggle to maintain those three different identities simultaneously.”
The cast for the show includes Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle and Tony Shalhoub amongst others. Zachary Levi is said to star in the second season in a recurring role.
The Second Season is expected to air by the end of this year and will feature ten episodes which are two more episodes than the first Season.
