The third movie in The Kissing Booth franchise was announced immediately after the release of the sequel. The popularity of the film has caused a frenzy among the “young” fans. The film series is based on the books by “adult fiction writer,” Beth Reekles. Netflix earlier revealed that The Kissing booth 3 was shot simultaneously with The Kissing Booth 2. hence, the fans have been waiting for the film for a year.
The 2018 American teen romantic comedy film is written and directed by Vince Marcello. The film was released on Netflix on May 11, 2018. It received a great response from the audience and was announced a “commercial” success by the streaming giant. However, many critics still criticized the fill for being too “cliche.” Nevertheless, Netflix decided to order the sequel, and then a threequel, due to its popularity on the streamer.
The Kissing Booth 3 Release Date, and Plot
The Kissing Booth 3 is releasing on August 11, 2021, on Netflix. It will be available worldwide on Netflix. All you need is a subscription to enjoy the grand premiere of the third and final installment. The release date was announced by Netflix’s official Twitter handle. The movie’s lead stars Joey King, and Joel Courtney made a fun cameo in the video.
Courtney said that he is so excited about the movie that he ate 11 churros. King continues and says, “Ate 11, hmm?” which sounds like “8/11,” hinting at the release date. The gap between the first and second part was of 2 years. However, the last part is coming out super soon, which is obviously good news for the fans. But, the fans are said as they have to bid goodbye to the film.
As for the plot, there will be a lot we will see in the new movie. The ending of the sequel left us with a major cliffhanger. The official synopsis for The Kissing Booth 3 reads, “It’s the summer before Elle heads to college, and she has a secret decision to make. She has been accepted into Harvard, where her boyfriend Noah is matriculating, and also Berkeley, where her BFF Lee is headed. Which path should she choose?”
The one question roaming around in The Kissing Booth fandom is, what will Elle choose? She did patch things up with Lee after lying to him about her college decisions. But, things are still rough between him and Noah. While talking about the cliffhanger, Joey King, who plays Elle said, that she is really good at getting herself into a pickle.
Beth Reekles also has a novella going on called the “Road Trip.” But, sadly, there is no plot info for the last film.
The cast and The Trailer
The major cast is returning to reprise their roles one last time. It includes Joey King as Elle Evans, Jacob Elordi as Noah Flynn, and Meganne Young as Rachel. Also, Molly Ringwald will be back as Noah and Lee’s mother Sara and Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Noah’s Harvard friend Chloe. Taylor Perez will also join the film as Marco. We will see him causing trouble in Elle and Noah’s relationship as he still has feelings for Elle. In the sequel, we see his friend telling him that Elle isn’t worth it. But, he replies and says, “yes, she is.”
No official full-length trailer is released by Netflix, yet. However, the streamer did share a sneak peek from the latest film. In the short clip, we see Lee, Rachel, Noah, and Elle hanging out together, and Elle simultaneously lying to Noah about his call from “Harvard.”
