Upcoming comedy-mystery drama, The Killer’s Shopping List, held its first script reading. And tvN released the pictures from the event starring the drama’s leading and supporting cast, including AOA’s Kim Seolhyun, Lee Kwang Soo, and others. The Killer’s Shopping List is based on a novel of the same name by Kang Ji Yong and will be helmed by Lee Eon Hee, who previously directed “The Accidental Detective 2: In Action.” Meanwhile, the drama will be penned by Han Ji Wan, who also wrote “The Ghost Detective” and “Wanted.” The Kdrama viewers are looking for a funny yet mysterious ride through The Killer’s Shopping List.
tvN’s upcoming thriller drama The Killer’s Shopping List is a story about a typical neighborhood situated on the outskirts of Seoul. After a body is found near the apartment building, a supermarket receipt becomes the critical evidence for the investigation. Hence, the aftermath gets the drama’s characters to find the killer on a hilarious journey.

The Killer’s Shopping List Drama Table Read- tvN Drops Cast Pictures From The Script Reading
At the script reading, the cast of The Killer’s Shopping List transformed into their characters perfectly. Moreover, they all had harmony while reciting their script dialogues. Lee Kwang Soo will play Ahn Dae Sung in the drama. Ahn Dae Sung is a son of a supermarket owner and used to be a genius with incredible memorization skills. However, after a traumatic event in childhood, his life took an absurd turn.
AOA’s Seolhyun read the script to turn into her character – Do Ah Hee, a passionate police officer, and Ahn Dae Sung’s loyal girlfriend. The two have been together from a very young age. Hence, Lee Kwang Soo and Seolhyun maintained a sweet connection while rehearsing their lines. Meanwhile, Seolhyun displayed a charismatic aura while portraying her character at the table read.
Jin Hee Kyung transformed into Jung Myung Sook, an owner of a supermarket. The actress showed her calm nature at the script reading while simultaneously carrying the strict personality of a boss.
Other actors from the drama also brought a different charm to their characters. The other cast lineup Shin Sung Woo who will play Dae Sung’s father Ahn Young Choon; Jang Won Young, is playing Oh Chun Won; Moon Hee Kyung, will portray apartment building association president Yang Soon; Kim Mi Hwa, will take on the role of supermarket employee Gong San; and Park Ji Bin, will play Saeng Sun; all of them were gathered for the script reading event.
The Killer’s Shopping List Release Date
The Killer’s Shopping List is going to release on April 20, 2022, on tvN Network. The drama will release new episodes every Wednesday and Thursday. Moreover, it will run for eight episodes, concluding on May 12, 2022.
At the script reading, the production team shared: “The script reading achieved a perfect harmony that was even better than we’d expected.” Even with a tense script, the actor’s talent was enough to bring reality through their vivid acting. They further asked people to watch the show once it releases as it will showcase these super[market] heroes who will awaken the interest of the viewers.
On the other hand, Lee Kwang Soo said that he has high expectations from the drama since he has never worked on something like this before. Additionally, Seolhyun confessed that the tension is rising as she is emerging in her character, but she enjoys filming the scenes. And Jin Hee Kyung said that while the drama is on the comedic side, people will also love the mystery and suspense plot.
The fans are already excited to stream The Killer’s Shopping List. Due to Lee Kwang Soo’s proven ability to play a comedy and serious role masterfully, the fandom of the drama is already growing.
