The Great British Bake Off kicked off its ninth season on August 28. The show aired on the usual Channel 4, and like every other season of the show, this one promises to be a good one. The series by Channel 4 will see 12 new bakers competing for the final reward. With each passing round, one competitor is eliminated, and the winner is chosen from the remaining contestants.
The first episode is already and here is how the official synopsis described it —
“Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding welcome twelve contestants to the tent, where judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood oversee them in 3 challenges. This year, the competition kicks off with Biscuit-Week, and the bakers are challenged to make signature biscuits that will say something both about them and a place in the British Isles, before tackling one of Paul’s childhood favorites in the Technical. Finally, the bakers are tasked to make a 3D biscuit portrait in their first Showstopper.”
The second episode of the season will see the contestants making a cake. The week will be the “Cake Week”.”We have very few details about the episode, but it will be another awesome episode that’s for sure. So, please look forward to seeing it.
The new contestants for season nine are as follows —
Jon, 47, a blood courier from Newport, Wales
Kim-Joy, 27. He is a mental health specialist, who is originally from Belgium but, he is now living in Leeds
Rahul, 30. He was born in Kolkata but now he is living Rotterdam. He works as a research scientist
Antony, 30. He is a banker, who was born in India but, he is now living in London
Karen, 60. She is an in-store sampling assistant, who lives in West Yorkshire
Ruby, 29. Ruby is currently the favourite of the bookies and she works as a project manager in London.
Luke, 30. He is a civil servant/techno DJ from Sheffield
Manon, 26. Manon is a software project manager. Manon is originally from France and now living in London
Briony, 33. A regular full-time parent from Bristol
Imelda, 33. Imelda is a countryside recreation officer from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
Terry, 56. He is a retired air steward from the West Midlands
Dan, 36, a full-time parent from London.
