The Gilded Age is an American historical drama series which premiered on January 24th, 2022. The show was created by Julian Fellowes, who is known for creating Downton Abbey, and is set in the United States during the Gilded Age. The Gilded Age is the name given to the boom years in 1880’s New York City. The series has an ensemble cast which consists of Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denee Benton and Taissa Farmiga, among others. They play, Bertha Russell, George Russell, Marian Brook, Peggy Scott and Gladys Russell respectively. The show is about a rural girl named Marian Brook, who moves to New York after her father’s death. However, things become complicated when she has to assimilate into the clan of a railroad tycoon. The series is produced by Neamo Film and Television and Universal Television.

The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 2 Recap
The second episode of The Gilded Age, named ‘Money Isn’t Everything’, is half the length of the series premiere, but it shows a lot of room for development for its main characters and viewers see how the main and supporting cast are either engaging or ignoring the nouveau riche and old money war. The episode begins with the viewers being turned towards Agnes and Ada’s staff. A gambling enforcer has paid Mrs. Bower, the cook an unpleasant visit. They tell her that they will start breaking legs if does not the pay up the 50 dollars she owes. Meanwhile, Bertha has turned her eye towards influencing an upcoming social event. The charity bazaar, which is being held to benefit women and children in need is short on event rental space.
Later Bertha offers her own brand new ballroom. She knew that the ladies were not eager in her getting involved, but were eager to take her cash. Alderman Morris’ wife is on the executive board for the bazaar, so George sees the charity as a way to get a meeting off the record with him. They then invite the Morris’ over for some to eat as a ruse to have sneaky business discussions. Meanwhile, Oscar is scheming to invite Gladys Russell to lunch, upstairs at the aunts’ house. Agnes thinks he is attempting to pollute the building with the riff raff and is not happy about it. However, he is not the only one trying to do match making. Ada believes that it would be a good thing if Marian and her lawyer friend become more than friends.

The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 3 Release Date
The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 2 will release on February 7th, 2022. The episode will be titled ‘Face The Music’. So far we know that at least one member of the Russell family is going to be in the midst of a vicious argument, in the third episode. There is going to be great news for Peggy is that she is going to secure a meeting with a publisher. However, it remains to see whether the meeting ends on a good or bad note. Episode three will also cover the important rise and falls of innovations in the city. Since it is a historical drama, we expect to see the history of wealth around this time. There will definitely be some big and expensive experiments which will eventually fall apart.
