“Bad Boys For Life” is the third part of the trilogy “Bad Boys”. For those of you who enjoy the thriller genre, this trilogy is a must-watch. The series is known for releasing the parts with a lot of time gaps in between. The first movie, “Bad Boys” was released in 1995. After a gap of almost ten years, the next “Bad Boys II” was released in 2005. The third was finally released in 2020, after a gap of 15 years.
This was one of the reasons why people thought that the movie might not do that well at the box office. However, not only did the film leave the audience sitting on the edge of their seats, but it also left a major Easter egg in the ending. In this article, we will try to find the Easter egg, and you will get the Ending of ‘Bad Boys For Life’ explained.
The ending of the movie is fairly simple, with the bad guys getting caught and the “Bad Boys” still an unbeatable duo. However, if you had stuck around until the end of the credits scene, then you must have found out the Easter egg that we are talking about. If you have not, then you have missed quite an important part of the movie. However, you need not worry because we will be dealing with that in this article.
The plot of the movie is straightforward, however, we cannot discuss the ending without talking about the plot. The movie starts with Marcus going to be a grandfather, and he is content with his non-adventurous life. On the other hand, we find Mike dissatisfied with his job as he faces friction with his other teammates. They both finally meet, and Marcus breaks the news to Mike that he is planning to retire from his work completely. After the conversation, Mike gets hit by an assassin. However, through this assassin, a lot of Mike’s backstory becomes clear.
The assassin is found to be Mike’s son. That comes as a shock, as there has been no such indication that Mike would be a father. It is revealed in the movie that once Mike was sent on a secret mission in Mexico. There undercover, he had fallen for Aretas drug cartel’s owner Isabel. Their relationship was quite strong, however, Mike did his job honestly and let Isabel get arrested. What he did not know was that she was pregnant with his child during that time. Their son, Armando Armas, grew up wanting to get vengeance from anyone responsible for the cartel’s downfall.
The climax of the movie is also put quite simply. Mike and Marcus reach Mexico for their final mission together and try to track down Armando. They are also followed by a group of policemen for their protection. The whole team wants to capture Isabel once again, and also her son. Mike confronts Isabel about the whole situation, and she refuses to cooperate with the police.
After this, she tries to escape. However, once again, Mike and Marcus almost capture her right before she leaves. This is when Armando shows up and he is about to kill Mike. Marcus almost injures himself while protecting Mike. Isabel then tells Armando that Mike is his father. Hearing this, Armando stops fighting his father. This is the moment when the policemen come in and arrests everyone.
The ending shows that Mike and Marcus are returning. Marcus has decided that he does not want to retire anymore, and Mike seems to be getting along with his other teammates. Now, this is where the mid-credits scene comes to play. In that scene, we are shown that Mike visits Armando in the prison. He asks Armando if he wants to work with him, if so then he can reduce his sentence as well. This is a major Easter egg for the next movie. Perhaps in the fourth movie, we will get a father-son duo. It will be quite exciting to see another person being added to the “Bad Boys” group.
