The Blacklist episode begins with Dembe whisking Red away the night Liz died, and at Red’s command, Ressler was lost in a multi-vehicle accident. When Red returns home with a blank expression on his face, Dembe wraps him in a blanket. Dembe wakes up the next morning with the blanket on him, and Red is gone.

In the present day, Red believes he is being evaluated and informs Marvin. He tells him that he is out of touch, that he should know this already, and that he needs to get his ducks in a row. Dembe Tells Red What He Found Out

Dembe visits Red, who is accompanied by Marvin and Weecha. Red shows him information about Vandyke’s whereabouts on the day of Liz’s death, revealing that he had been given a tip about her whereabouts. Red apologizes to Dembe for abandoning him, saying that he shouldn’t have done so no matter what had happened. Dembe apologizes for the letter, Red says it’s done, and Liz may have found peace as a result. Red wants to work with Dembe in peace in the future. Red then spends time with Agnes, reading her a book before going to bed.
