Kitaen’s early life and career

Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, on August 5, 1961. Kitaen earned herself the moniker “Tawny” when she was about 12 years old. Because of her dyslexia, she struggled in school and finally dropped out of Mission Bay High School in San Diego. Kitaen supplemented her income by modeling and performing in modest parts.

The film Bachelor Party gave Kitaen his big break in 1984. In this bawdy comedy, she played Tom Hanks’ bride-to-be opposite him. Not much long after the release of the picture, her work in other media has given Kitaen more solid professional support. She began dating Whitesnake’s David Coverdale, and she appeared in numerous of the band’s music videos, including the No. 1 smash “Here I Go Again.” These videos helped Kitaen become a prominent sex symbol at the time by showcasing her beautiful features, huge hair, and long legs.
