SWAT Season 5 has already started with the beginning of October and can you blame the fans for being this obsessed with the whole plot? I mean, it has got everything, crime and drama, and thrill and action. Robert Hammer and Rick Husky casually woke up back in 1975 and decided they have to make a show called SWAT. Our version of the series is based on their version of it. Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan have made this new show together for CBS and it started airing episodes in 2017.
Sergeant Daniel Harrelson is the character who gets all the spotlight in the installments. He used to work in Los Angeles for a very long time as a cop and prior to that, worked in the form of a Marine. Daniel is popularly addressed as Hondo by the people who are close to him. Recently, he got a major upgrade in his career when a SWAT team is provided to him in order to lead through all the crimes happening around the city. Despite his superior position, Hondo always has love and respect for the police officers and detectives. The audience has particularly loved SWAT in the sense because the plot always depicts the problems which are real and actually connect to all the issues out there in the world.
Previously on the show, we have seen the SWAT team chasing down a group of robbers who have taken their toll at a bank. These are the type of thieves who think quite highly of themselves and consider their team as the modern Robin Hoods. But that does not mean Hondo and Deacon were not troubled with their problems. The most sting that is caused to them is by the racist views held by the cops. Later, the duo faces problems from the prison men who have escaped the bars and have taken down a courthouse inside of which, other civilians along with Hondo and Deacon are present. Given the fact that this situation could be dangerous, panic and chaos rise inside the premise.
Meanwhile, the officers also do not want to reveal their identity to the people. Now, we see the camera panning over to Street who decides to visit his mother in the hospital. Although, someone greets him in her room that makes Street question everything. During the concluding plot of the previous season, we saw the SWAT team trying to save the people who are affected by the human trafficking chain. These mafia groups mainly targeted women with low financial stability.
As we know, Leroy and Deryl want to open their own business. Thus, they decide to discuss everything with Hondo. We also see Street as he holds a conversation with his mother about meeting Chris which is actually pretty shocking to him. The season closed with a cliffhanger that proved quite fatal. The bomb at the police station was pretty brutal and destroyed the faith of people in the government. Also, Hondo was provided with an opportunity in a very dangerous situation which he chose incorrectly. This one decision of his will now determine his career in the force. Then in the most recent SWAT Season 5 Episode 1, there was the theme of a new beginning.
We saw the scene starting in Mexico with Hondo. There is a lot that he has to go through, given everything that happened to him in the previous season. In this installment, we saw that Hondo is trying to help a local family here in Mexico who is in trouble right now. It is obvious that Hondo has great intentions towards every person in his life but this time, he honestly just needs to lay back a bit. This was everything with the recap of the show and already time for all of you guys to know about the future that lies for us.
