Suzy’s current agency Management SOOP has made the announcement on the 10th of February that Suzy is going to make her comeback as a singer with a digital single named ‘Satellite’. Since her last music comeback was way back in 2018, this marks a total of four years of waiting for fans of the singer and idol. After her departure from JYP Entertainment and subsequent signing with acting agency Management SOOP, Bae Su Ji, better known as Suzy has been making her place in the industry as an actress by continuously working on dramas and movies. So, this news of her comeback as a musical artist is like a breath of fresh air for fans.
Bae Suzy is a Korean Kpop idol turned actress currently signed to Management SOOP. She was the maknae of the idol group Miss A. The group disbanded in 2017. Suzy’s visuals and stage presence always made sure to keep her as a trending name, even earning her the nickname of “The Nation’s Crush” and “CF Queen” amongst Koreans. Her last solo comeback was under JYP Entertainment with the title track ‘Holiday’. She has been active in the industry as an actress since then. However, this new comeback marks her much-anticipated return as a solo vocalist.
Bae Suzy Comeback: Everything You Need To Know
Giving more details on the comeback, the Management SOOP has informed us that the song ‘Satellite’ is going to give us a glimpse of Suzy as a vocalist in a way none of her previous musical projects have. Suzy has also participated in the songwriting process of the song. As for the subject of the song, “it is about the longing for a certain something that can’t be reached out for, the kind of yearning that always sticks around with no heart for changing.” And indeed, the photo teaser shared along with the news does exude the melancholic atmosphere of the song as described.
The song is reported going to be co-written and produced by none other than singer-songwriter and music producer Kang Hyun Min, who is the leader of the Korean pop group Loveholics who previously also was a member of a group called Weather Forecast. The genre of the song is going to be leaning towards the classic Britpop band style (think of the classic 90s songs by Oasis, Blur, Pulp). Suzy was reportedly working with Hyun Min on this song alongside her busy acting schedules. “Since this is her comeback as a vocalist after a long time, and since she has dedicated a lot of time to this project, we are expecting this news to gather a lot of curiosity and joy amongst fans”, says the agent from SOOP.
