‘Suspicion’ Episode 3 arrives this week with the mystery behind Leo Newman’s kidnapping growing even bigger. What’s more, is that Sean is still evading arrest and has already killed two people. With his involvement in the case seeming obvious, the other suspects have been let go, in the wake of insufficient evidence against them. However, Vanessa and Scott are now keeping tabs on all of them through CCTV surveillance all across London.
The show follows four ordinary Brits who face accusations in a kidnapping case. The victim is the son of a prominent U.S. media mogul. In the wake of the accusations levied against them, they embark on a desperate run against the time to prove their innocence. However, with one after another suspicious detail about their pasts keeps unraveling, the mystery only grows deeper.
The main cast includes Uma Thurman as Katherine Newman. Georgina Campbell stars as Natalie Thompson. Elizabeth Henstridge stars as Tara McCallister. Kunal Nayyar stars as Aadesh Chopra. Elyes Gabel stars as Sean Tilson. Angel Coulby stars as Detective Vanessa Okoye. Tom Rhys Harries stars as Eddie Walker. Gerran Howell stars as Leo Newman, Karl Johnson as Eric Cresswell, and Noah Emmerich as Scott Anderson.
Let’s now delve into all that episode 3 of ‘Suspicion’ might entail and what transpired in the latest episode through a thorough recapitulation. Spoilers ahead!
‘Suspicion’ Episode 2 Recap
Episode 2 opens with the mystery behind Leo Newman’s kidnapping still afresh while the police try to find some leads interrogating the suspects. These suspects include Tara McCallister, Aadesh Chopra, Natalie Thompson, and Sean. The second episode kicks off with a shot of each of the suspects in questioning at the hotel back in New York. Meanwhile, back in London, Vanessa continues to question the suspects. Unlike all others, Natalie refuses legal representation.
This might have something to do with her fiancé, who’s also a lawyer. Vanessa interrogates them one by one. A common question is if they know Sean. They all are in a state of disbelief over what’s going on, however. As the questioning keeps going, secrets and suspicious details keep unraveling about each of them. They all seem to be, in one way or another, connected to the overarching mystery.
Sean Embarks on a Rampage & Natalie’s Hidden Stash
Meanwhile, Sean is still away from the grab of police, in Ireland. He’s gone to visit his grandfather. After that, he heads off to meet his lover, and the two kiss and take a boat to the sea. However, this reunion isn’t romantic as he later ties up Nicole — his lover — in the bedroom. He then reaches the shore and presses a button, triggering an explosion and the yacht blows up to smithereens. Immediately after arriving in England, Sean takes his second victim’s life in some random stranger. He then takes their car and storms away. This whole ordeal is recorded via CCTV cameras.
Back at the custody, Vanessa asks Natalie about her stay at the New York hotel. The first suspicious thing is why Natalie went so far for her bachelorette party. Natalie says it’s because that’s where her sister Monique goes to school. Another thing is Natalie’s convenient movements during her stay. She says she was drunk and went back to the hotel through a side door. However, there’s no CCTV footage for that portion of space. Meanwhile, Monique is at Natalie’s and discovers a hidden phone and a stash of money.
Aadesh & Tara’s Suspicious Connections to the Case
Vanessa then asks Aadesh about his connection to Katherine Newman. Apparently, Aadesh went to New York for a job at Katherine’s company. Tara’s connection to this case is her familiarity with Leo, which she denied earlier. However, Tara once protested Leo’s admission to the university where she teaches. Tara claims she went to New York for a conference with Cooper Newman.
Moreover, she claims she has had nothing to do with Leo. The Investigations beg to differ, though. Many of Leo’s notes are from Tara’s lectures. She’s not the only one whose claims don’t add up. Aadesh also has a suspicious history, with one case involving him hacking his college exam board. Monique, meanwhile, hides Natalie’s stash before the police arrive there with a search warrant.
Leo’s Footage Surfaces in a Cliffhanger Ending
The episode ends with Vanessa and Scott having no choice but to let all the suspects go. There’s little that can hold them in custody and the time for their custody has passed. However, there’s a caveat, kept from all three suspects. After they all leave custody, Vanessa and Scott keep tabs on all of them through many CCTV cameras all over London.
Before the credits start rolling, we get the last shocker of a sequence. Back in Washington, during a meeting, Katherine witnesses a horrific turn of events as the audio and video conference gets hacked. Video footage of Leo in captivity pops up. With the footage is a message, that reads — “Tell the truth Katherine or your son dies with the whole world watching”.
‘Suspicion’ Episode 3 Release Date & Preview
Episode 3 of ‘Suspicion’ will release on February 11, 2022. The official synopsis states that the episode will see the suspects return home and try to go on about their lives. As they all try to resume their lives after the custody, a “surprising connection” is revealed. The synopsis doesn’t delve into what this “surprising connection” entails. However, if we had to venture a guess, it probably has something to do with the suspects. Or at least with one of the suspects.
All of the three suspects have had something shady going on with their lives. At this point, any of the three can be behind Leo’s kidnapping. However, more than the three that were brought in for questioning, Sean seems to be the most obvious choice for the perpetrator. The man has already wreaked enough chaos and killings to suggest he’s definitely somewhere near the center of this web of mystery and conspiracy.
