Starbucks Coffee Cup On Game of Thrones Forces HBO To Release Official Statement

Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4 is out and it us making social media headlines for all the wrong reasons. Even though there were some important scenes in the episode like Euron Greyjoy killing one of Daenerys Targaryen’s two remaining dragons and also Missandei being beheaded in the most iconic Game of Thrones fashion, the headlines that we can see in social media are about a Starbucks coffee cup that was left on the scene while filming.

This scene is in Winterfell when Daenerys Targaryen is looking at everyone enjoying their feasts and envying Jon Snow who is being praised as a true king. Right than from everyone’s sharp sights there comes a Starbucks coffee cup who desperately wanted to make it on the Game of Thrones show.

It was clearly a big error on part of the show makers HBO. Maybe it is getting this much attention because nobody expects Game of Thrones to make such a silly mistake as they have managed to make none throughout the last seven seasons of the show. That is why maybe this thing is getting more attention than required.

HBO has come out and made a statement which says: “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered a herbal tea.” Well, for the record Starbucks also serves herbal tea in those sort of cups which obviously HBO does not know about at all presumably. Jokes apart, I think that it was cool on the part of HBO to come out and clearly accept the error that has occurred and tried to make a joke out of it.

Nonetheless, I think that the episode was a good one but it was too fast-paced. The first half of the episode was poor and the second half was good but it was rushed too damn much.

This is why I absolutely hate the idea of cramming things in six episodes instead of normal ten episodes which would have been a better choice and the story wouldn’t have been rushed so much.

I also feel like the last episode, that is “The Long Night” was also rushed as the Night King was killed too soon to most fans liking. But HBO creators were too damn in hurry to pack up the series and enjoy their time off it. It was already revealed by George R R Martin that there was enough content for about 13 seasons but the fact the series is ending in season 8 tells us about how much content HBO has skipped.
