Star Wars Battlefront III: Release Date & Everything We Know

Star Wars Battlefront 3
Star Wars Battlefront 3

Star Wars Battlefront III isn’t a new idea. In fact, it’s pretty old. It hails all the way back to the 2000s. It was supposed to be the third installment of the Battlefront series. And thanks to the disastrous second game, the project got killed back in 2008. Consequentially, thanks to the 2017 Battlefront II revival and the urge to know a little bit more about it refloated the interest in this topic. Therefore, here at Otakukart, we prepared a brief on everything we know regarding Star Wars Battlefront III.

Early in 2021, Lucasfilm Games, a brand new division, opened. With it, a bunch of irresponsible trolls on Reddit began posting false rumors saying that Battlefront III would release sometime soon. Firstly they began leaking intel regarding maps on Coruscant. After that, they began ranting on how potential release dates would work for them. But all that ended up being false. In the end, Battlefront III is all up for grabs. But you gotta read through this article to know more about it. Now jump with us in Otakukart as we take you to Star Wars Battlefront III. May the force be with you!

Star Wars Battlefront III Leaks

Firstly, a leak that surfaced in late April 2021 stated that Battlefront 3 will heavily promote Coruscant and Ahsoka Tano and that Ahsoka would be modeled on her look in The Mandalorian (including Rosario Dawson’s performance). However, the primary point of this leak was predicated on the backdrop of a Coruscant map. Within a few days, someone found that the model was freely accessible for download online, thus proving the rumors untrue.

Battlefront III isn’t confirmed by anyone. The game is nothing but mere speculation. And whoever tells you otherwise is wishfully thinking about the future. At the same time, it’d be cool to have another title. Let’s face it. The odds are slim to none, mainly because many factors would have to coalesce and solidify surrounding that idea. Firstly, the story. Secondly, the budget and crew. Thirdly, a time frame. And lastly a credible proposition behind it.

What to Expect from Battlefront III?

As EA’s exclusive publishing deal ends, scheduled to expire in 2023, the publisher seems to have turned its fortunes around with titles such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Even Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2017), initially met with microtransaction controversy and fan outrage, has gotten numerous patches and free DLC that vastly enhanced the game.

With the idea that a Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is in the works, EA may return a reworked version of Galactic Conquest. Galactic Conquest was a turned-based metagame in the original Star Wars: Battlefront games that contextualized numerous planetary wars into an overall strategy game. Players may work collaboratively or competitively to take over the whole galaxy for a particular side, taking part in combat scenarios on the many maps available in Star Wars: Battlefront games. The victorious side would then conquer that planet and earn numerous benefits if they won.

What titles Similar to Battlefront Are Worthy of our Attention?

If you liked the Battlefront series, we could recommend Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is the third installment in Raven Software’s Jedi Knight series, which began in 1995 with Dark Forces. Kyle Katarn, a mercenary-turned-Jedi who temporarily joins the Dark Side and therefore has access to all kinds of Force powers, is the protagonist of the series. Kyle had abandoned the Force in Jedi Outcast, only to discover that he has to rediscover his Force sensitivity in order to fight a danger to the New Republic.

The moment in the Jedi Knight series when combat completely changes to a mix of shooter and lightsaber combat is reached in Jedi Outcast. This, along with the excellent single-player campaign, elevates Jedi Outcast to the pinnacle of the Jedi Knight series. Kyle also meets many famous Star Wars characters, such as Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian, in Jedi Outcast. It gives a glimpse into their life (although one that is no longer official) after the events of Return of the Jedi. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi Knight II. Jedi Outcast is now available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One. GameCube, and PC. That’s a wrap! May the force be with you!
