Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Episode 8 Recap
Episode 8 of Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 dropped on 10th February 2022 and was titled “All In”. The episode began with Admiral Charles asking everyone to track the ship in which Booker and Tarka got away with the intent to destroy the DMA. Moreover, Laira asked Admiral to find out their location fast because they also had the prototype spore drive technology with them. While she told Michael to stay away from this as she was personally close to Booker, and it might cloud her judgment. On the other hand, Booker learned from Tarka that they needed a rare material called Isolynium to finish making the bomb. Although, Booker knew that they could only get one in Porathia, where the Federation might not track them. Meanwhile, Charles asked Michael to go after Booker and try to bring him back before things got out of hand.
While Michael also had the same idea in mind of going to Porathia as she was quite sure that Booker might head there to get the Isolynium. Furthermore, she knew a broker in Porathia from her past who was a friend of her and Booker. Moving on, Booker and Tarka arrived on Porathia and met Haz, the broker, and his old friend. However, things didn’t end well between the two when Booker left Haz the last time. So Haz first took the money from Booker as a means to settle their old beef. Then he asked Booker and Tarka to catch a cheater in his club, and if they found the cheater, they would get the Isolynium.
Later on, Michael also arrived with Commander Joann and tried to buy the Isolynium from Haz so that Booker couldn’t get it. But Haz increased the price, and she had to pay a lot more than she offered in order to get it.

Tarka and Booker
Therefore, Joann decided to step into a boxing ring and fight a tall and powerful fighter and win the betting money. Whereas Booker and Tarka also caught the cheater in the club. So Haz declared a tie and set up a poker match with another third party who was interested in the Isolynium. However, Booker and Michael worked together this time to beat the third party at the poker game because it would be risky to let the material go into their hands. After eliminating them, Booker won the game obviously since he is the best at it.
Later on, Michael returned after failing to convince Booker to come back. But she told Charles and Laira that she had put a tracker on the Isolynium, and they had a chance to stop them now. Furthermore, it became even more important to stop them from destroying DMA as it would start a war between the Federation and the species Ten-C who are extremely advanced and powerful.
