TNT’s TV series Snowpiercer, based on Bong Joon-2013 ho’s dystopian sci-fi thriller film of the same name, finishes off its Third Season with an explosive two-part conclusion on March 28, at 9/8c on TNT, with the first half currently accessible to stream on TNT’s app. Now fans wait for the finale as well as Snowpiercer Season 4. Snowpiercer is also based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige, which was published in the 1980s and inspired the film. The conclusion sets up a clash between Andre Layton, the deposed revolutionary leader, and Mr. Wilford, the creator of Snowpiercer, who has reclaimed control of the never-ending train that transports humanity’s survivors after a catastrophic event.
Wilford has relegated Layton to the “Big Alice” supply train and is debating what to do with the essential Snowpiercer passengers who remain loyal to Layton. But one thing is certain. Snowpiercer is no longer a democracy, to paraphrase Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead. Things do not appear to be going well for Layton and the revolution. Melanie Cavill, who is off the train hunting for scientific evidence that the world is becoming habitable again, offers some hope, and who knows if the train will return in the end. Despite the fact that the current Season of Snowpiercer is coming to an end, fans may rejoice because the program has already been renewed for Season 4. Here’s all we know about the upcoming season thus far.
Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 9 Recap
The Eighth Episode of Season 3 of ‘Snowpiercer,’ titled ‘A Beacon for Us All,’ features Josie noticing Melanie’s train car on a sidetrack. Ben, Josie, and Layton all contribute to pushing the train car off the track and into the Snowpiercer. Melanie is alive but unconscious due to the suspension drugs she took to escape death. Melanie is reunited with her daughter Alex and lover Ben after completing her recuperation under Dr. Pelton’s supervision. Melanie also pays Wilford a visit, who advises her that New Eden is not a safe option for the travelers. Melanie looks at the data and concludes that the possibilities of life surviving in New Eden are insufficient to outweigh the risk. When she tells Layton about her predicament, he tells her that the mission is the only way to break the ice.
After deciding to limit their time together as co-parents to Liana, Layton and Zarah go their separate ways. Layton discloses to Josie that he has affection for her, but she rejects him. Meanwhile, Bess and Miss Audrey consider courting after enjoying a nice night together. Ruth is inspired to host a celebration in honor of Melanie’s return and their upcoming arrival in New Eden. As the party preparations begin, LJ acquires a drug from Mrs. Headwood. She offers the same to a housekeeper over Oz’s protests.
Melanie Expose Layton’s Lie
When Melanie hears that Layton spread a lie among the Snowpiercer’s passengers in order to lead the train to New Eden, she is worried. Melanie refuses to tolerate Layton endangering the train passengers’ lives without a guarantee that life would survive in New Eden. Despite the fact that she recognizes that lying is unavoidable in some circumstances. Melanie evaluates the evidence and comes to the conclusion that human survival in the Arabian warm zone is implausible. Wilford, the vicious engineer, warns her about the dangers of crossing the dangerous rails that lie in front as they approach New Eden during their conversation.
Melanie weighs the risks and rewards of visiting the Arabian hotspot and concludes that visiting New Eden is suicide. At the party, she brings it up with Layton. On the other side, Layton believes that New Eden is their only hope of surviving. Layton convinces the passengers to take a chance and finish the journey as the Snowpiercer’s resources run short. Layton fantasizes about a time when his daughter’s environment isn’t confined to the Snowpiercer’s vehicles. He begs Melanie to trust his lies so that his dream will come true.
Even though Layton explains his concerns, Melanie insists that endangering the lives of the few survivors of the freeze is not the way to go. Instead of risking the Snowpiercer derailing and killing all of the passengers, they decided to take a chance. Melanie opts to save their lives, even if it means sacrificing humanity’s only hope of existence outside the train. Melanie informs the passengers that Layton will not be arriving at New Eden. In order to foil Layton’s goal, they wanted to see if life existed in the area.
Wilford Gets Out Of Prison
After reconnecting the pirate train to the Snowpiercer, Layton takes over as leader, and Wilford is imprisoned. After surviving a near-fatal bullet wound, Wilford is housed in comfortable prison accommodations. Layton’s high-tech security to keep Wilford contained does not work. Prevent him from fleeing the prison, however. LJ concocts a scheme with Mrs. Headwood to help Wilford break free from his imprisonment. Layton’s reappearance as the train’s captain has infuriated him. Mrs. Headwoods gives LJ a poisonous chemical, which gets to Wilford through the housekeeper who prepares his lunch.
Wilford injects the poison into his bodyguards’ smokes. The toxic cigars kill the officers, allowing Wilford to depart with no sign of his whereabouts. Wilford has been expecting an uprising to bring Layton down since Melanie exposed his lie. He might be able to avoid Layton’s officers until the passengers accuse him of betraying them when the Snowpiecer’s occupants chastise Layton for lying. Wilford could take advantage of their wrath by regaining control of the train.
Snowpiercer Season 4 Release Date
As the Third Season of TNT‘s thriller television drama series Snowpiercer ends filming, the Fourth Season was confirmed on July 29, 2021. At the tail end of production, Daveed Diggs announced the show’s renewal on set. It was good news for a show that had had a long road to the screen. After the pilot was shot, the original showrunner, Josh Friedman, was fired in early 2018 due to creative disputes with the network, and director Scott Derrickson did not return for reshoots.
So, essentially, a new pilot was shot, written by new showrunner Manson and directed by James Hawes, delaying the series’ premiere by a year. In May of 2020, it made its debut. Critics have given Season 2 a higher rating than Season 1, with an 85 percent “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes compared to 63 percent for Season 1. As the show enters its Third Season, it appears that the creators have worked out what works.
It’s difficult to estimate when Season 4 will air because Snowpiercer’s schedule for the first two Seasons was a little erratic, but the Third Season arrived on time. Following the lengthy pilot, the first two seasons debuted in quick succession, with Season 2 premiering on January 25, 2021, only six months following Season 1, and Season 3 debuting in early 2022. Especially since Season 3 is still unfinished, we may anticipate a Snowpiercer Season 4 release before the end of 2022, preferably at the start of 2023.
Who Will Return For Season 4?
Because Snowpiercer has such a large ensemble cast and a high death toll, it’s difficult to know who will return for Season 4 until after the Season 3 finale. Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, the show’s stars, are expected to return for the following season at the very least.
Rowan Blanchard, Sean Bean, Lena Hall, Alison Wright, Sam Otto, Mickey Sumner, Annalise Basso, and Steven Ogg are expected to return in addition to them. Chelsea Harris, who plays Sykes, Big Alice’s head of security, has been confirmed to return, as she was recently upgraded to series regular.
Season 4 will also see the introduction of a new cast member who should be a familiar face to fans of good television. Archie Panjabi, who earned an Emmy for her performance on The Good Wife in 2010, will play Asha in Snowpiercer. For the time being, little is known about the character, but Archie Panjabi is known for playing tough guys.
Whan Can Happen In Season 4?
Nothing concerning what will happen in Season 4 of Snowpiercer has been made public. But, based on where we are in Season 3, we can make a handful of general predictions. Mr. Wilford’s feud does not appear to be finished by the end of the Season. Thankfully, Sean Bean has given Snowpiercer a new lease on life, and we hope he stays for a while. As a result, the confrontation between Layton’s democratic have-nots and Wilford’s dictatorial haves will only intensify in Season 4.
Another prediction is that Melanie will discover indications of life, and we’ll begin to see what occurs as individuals attempt to exit the train and return to nature. Who knows what lurks in the shadows. Off the Snowpiercer train, the prospects for expansion seem limitless. Other scenarios that could occur are discussed below. Fans might go to Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette’s French graphic novels for inspiration, which the show’s writers could use.
