Mansour is the fifth son of the Emir of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was born on 20 November 1970. He is a graduate in international affairs from the United Arab Emirates University. Sheikh Mansour heads the Supreme Petroleum Council, alongside controlling various investment companies like the Abu Dhabi Investment Council and International Petroleum Investment Company. Although he acquired the ownership of the Manchester City Football Club, Mansour transferred the responsibilities regarding the club as well as its ownership to an Emirati entrepreneur Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
