Due to recent events around the world, production for many films and TV programmes have been delayed, which has frustrated fans for a variety of franchises globally. Earlier this year though and especially, before lock-downs, I was lucky enough to have an exclusive interview with The Walking Dead and Shazam! actor Cooper Andrews at Supanova Melbourne 2020.
Andrews, who plays a lead role as the kind adopted father of many young children, which includes the main protagonist in Shazam!, was eager to start production for the upcoming DC film sequel. Andrews also went into his hope that Superman will have an appearance with Shazam soon but it was unlikely that it would happen in this film. Furthermore, he did state that he hoped that when Superman did appear alongside Shazam, it would be Henry Cavill playing the role and remember, this is all before Cavill resumed talks with Warner Bros Studios.
Shazam! had some pretty good reviews, which made the second film an easy decision to produce and Andrews relayed his thoughts into why Shazam! was liked by so many. He believes that it’s because it was like no other DC film yet. The film was fun and light-hearted, which catered for younger audiences and older ones. He believes that the second film will take on the same setting and that this will be bigger and better as a result but there was one thing he wasn’t looking forward to.
In the interview, which you can watch in the video with Nerds4Life.com below with Cooper Andrews at Supanova Melbourne 2020, he did mention he wasn’t looking forward to filming with a much older cast who had now surpassed him in height. The young kids from the first film are now older and according to Andrews, tower over him. However, apart from that little embarrassment, he couldn’t wait to start filming the upcoming Shazam! 2, which hopefully won’t be too delayed.
