Sex And The City fans are having the time of their life as the series is breathing a new life now. HBO Max is bringing the show back in the form of “And Just Like That…” The show promises to continue the story in modern-day New York. Thus addressing the new relationships in the modern-day crisis that affects Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda’s day-to-day lives. The show was in development since the December of 2020 and received a green light to go this year. So here we are breaking down when and what we can expect from Sex And The City’s new revival show And Just Like That…
And Just Like That… will be nostalgic at the same time quite modern for the fans. Especially the ones who waited every week in the late 90s and early 2000s for a new episode to grace their screen. A success that transitioned into two films and a prequel. Now it looks forward to telling the story once again, embracing the new OTT space format that is ruling the internet. How does this work for them? What story will they tell? Who is returning and Who is joining in for And Just Like That….? Let’s figure it out.
And Just Like That… Release Date
We are hoping for And Just Like That… to release somewhere in early or mid-2022 on HBO Max. This comes from the fact that the team of this Sex And The City revival began working on it earlier this year. An official release date from HBO Max is yet to come for And Just Like That… The filming is underway at the moment we are looking forward to it wrap up by the end of the year.
Sarah Jessica Parker spoke about the current ongoing shoot of the show. She stated that she loves to shoot in the city, as in New York. The one that has always supported the artists and culture. Especially after the institutions that have closed down and businesses that got hurt during the pandemic. Another thing to note is HBO always looked forward to releasing Sex And The City Seasons in mid-year. So probably they will follow the same for the revival series.
So far, we know that the story of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, and Miranda Hobbes will continue in And Just Like That… But this time, they will be navigating their life in their 50s. We notice the absence of Samantha Jones over here, which may be addressed once the official series come in through the run. Probably some tiff with the other characters might have lead to her absence from the series, or maybe things will be more complicated than they look like.
Sarah Jessica Parker has also teased that Covid-19 will be playing a major role in the stories of the series. Plus, its effect on relationships is something the show will be exploring. So who knows, someone dear might be affected that will shape the plot of the series. Also, note Parker has already revealed the title of the first episode, which is “Hello It’s Me.” on her Instagram. The episode may serve as a reintroduction to our beloved main cast and an introduction to the newer cast and range of characters we will be meeting. The show is promising to be more diverse than its previous iteration. So we are all in for it will be all about.
