‘Severance’ Episode 3 arrives this Friday with the mystery behind Lumon Industries still unresolved. Petey, who managed to escape the Severance program, continues to try and warn Mark about it. So far, he hasn’t been able to get through to Mark, who doesn’t remember Petey outside. Inside the premises, however, Mark does remember and feels terrible about Petey abruptly quitting. We also saw in the last episode the several attempts that Helly made to escape.
Trying and failing to escape, Helly faced the break room. However, Mark used his new position to prevent Helly’s punishment. What lies in the break room and behind the titular program? Let’s now delve into all that episode 3 of ‘Severance’ season 1 might entail. Before that, let’s recapitulate what happened in the previous one. Spoilers ahead!
Previously on the ‘Severance’ — Episode 2 Recap
Episode 2 saw Helly try to escape the Lumon workplace again and again. However, all her efforts continue to fail. Lumon has prevented Helly from escaping the confines at every turn. Meanwhile, Irving and Dylan theorize what exactly their job is. Nothing seems to convince Helly, who continues to escape the severance. Petey continues to warn Mark about the company while also contending with his reintegration sickness. He keeps coughing up blood, and it doesn’t look like Petey will have a good ending to his arc.
While Helly is onto something already and wants to break free of this inexplicable and mysteriously creepy domain, Mark seems content, more or less. His trauma in the outside world must be significant enough to make him complacent with the absurdity of the office. The episode ends with Helly’s another attempt at quitting the job. However, before she can do it, the office catches on to her attempt and sends her to the break room. Mark does end up preventing her from the room, though. However, what lies in this break room remains a mystery.
‘Severance’ Episode 3 Release Date
‘Severance’ Episode 3 will release on Friday, February 25, 2022. There’s no official synopsis available for the next episode at the moment. However, we do have a couple of speculations regarding what’s to come next. So far, we have seen the mysterious mind disintegration that’s been going on with our main characters.
Helly has tried and failed to get out of the company and the severance program. In episode 3, Helly will continue to rebel when Mark takes the team on a field trip. A deteriorating Petey will continue to warn Mark of the Lumon misdeeds. We may also learn a bit more about the company’s mysterious mind-altering program and the prominent people in positions of power.
