SEAL Team Season 5 Episode 10 Recap

Episode 10 saw Clay finally arriving at an understanding regarding Jason’s condition that could inflict major hurt and harm to the team if it’s left unchecked. Clay has been giving his mentor and friend a pass for quite a while. On the other hand, Jason has been nothing but dismissive of his condition. He has rejected the advice and refused to let others help him. His behavior has been one of the biggest catalysts in worsening his state. Now, he stands as a huge risk and liability for the entire team.

The episode sees the team about to go on a major mission. The problem is, Jason is also going along on the mission, and he can really jeopardize everybody else’s safety and the success of the mission. The episode sees Jason and his daughter arguing for his state. He pays no heed to her words, as has been his case with everyone else as well. Jason just doesn’t want to admit there’s something wrong with him. Admittance precedes acceptance, and Jason isn’t ready to admit he’s in a bad state, let alone accept any help.

Clay Confronts Jason

Clay finally stands up to Jason, an act that is terribly difficult for him. However, it was inevitable, he couldn’t risk the whole team’s safety over Jason anymore. Although on parental leave due to his sick kid, Clay decides to go on the mission. Yet another terribly difficult decision for him to make. We also get to see just how supportive Stella is of Clay, despite the circumstances they face. She tells him she can’t let him stay and that she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if she did.

Ray Receives Good News

Meanwhile, Ray finally gets a breather from the top command. He learns that none of his team members ratted him out. However, this relief also came with understandable frustration. It pertains to the fact that they broke the intel to him after so long. Ray has had to live with the constant paranoia and doubts for so long. However, it’s still good news, and he informs his wife about it.

Sonny & Hannah Go Separate Ways

Meanwhile, we also see Sonny and Hannah finally going their separate face. Hannah comes clear and says they’re just building a structure without scaffolding. They’re together just for the children, there’s nothing else to sustain the relationship. She now has her own life, and so she bids him farewell and sets off to Texas. Sonny cries but moves on as well.

Jason’s Deteriorating Condition & Clay Stands Up

We later get to the main focus of the episode — Jason’s deteriorating mental state. He’s gone off the deep end and has become a huge risk. We see this clearly when his premature decision sabotages the team’s progress on the mission. Clay finally stands up to Jason and tells him off. Jason doubles down and doesn’t take the criticism kindly. Jason and Clay have a tussle and heated back and forth regarding his mental health and the chain of command. While Jason’s persistently regressive mental state and dismissive attitude make him a dead weight, Clay is struggling with going against his close friend and reporting him to the higher command. However, he has to make a move, and he has to do it quickly. It would be for the best of all of them in the end.
