Revisionist films are loved by very few people. Hostile belongs to the category of revisionist films. The film was released in 2017. The film was directed by Scott Cooper. The story of Hostile was given by Donald Stewart. In 1892, a US Army cavalry commander is tasked with escorting a Cheyenne war chief and his family back to their Montana home. The film received appreciable comments from the critics. The film was announced in 2016, the makers did exceptional hard work in terms of releasing the film in 2017.

Storyline Of Hostiles
Hostiles have a very monotonous starting where the viewers will be able to see that a family is attacked by a war group. A Comanche war gang attacks Rosalee Quaid and her family, killing her husband and three children. Rosalee flees by hiding under a rocky outcropping. President Harrison orders soon-to-retire U.S. Army captain Joseph Blocker of Fort Berringer to accompany the cancer-stricken Cheyenne war chief Yellow Hawk. Blocker initially refuses since he and Yellow Hawk are longtime adversaries, but agrees under fear of court-martial and pension loss.
The story is an emotional ride where the viewers will be able to witness emotions as well as fights. The film has an emotional ending that will definitely bring tears to everyone who watched the film. Yellow Hawk and Blocker are the main leads around whom the entire story revolves.

The main cast of Hostiles includes Christian Bale playing the role of Capt. Joseph J. Blocker. Rosamund Pike played the role of Rosalee Quaid. Wes Studi played the role of Chief Yellow Hawk. Jesse Plemons played the role of Lt. Rudy Kidder. Adam Beach played the role of Black Hawk. Rory Cochrane played the role of 1st Sgt. Thomas Metz. Ben Foster played the role of Sgt. Philip Wills. The other cast of Hostile includes Peter Mullan, Scott Wilson, Paul Anderson, Timothee Chalamet, Jonathan Majors, John Hickey, Tanaya Beatty, Stephen Lang, Bill Camp, Scott Shepherd, Ryan Bingham, and Robyn Malcolm.
Hostiles Ending Explained
The film involves a lot of challenges and fights. This becomes very interesting for the viewers to experience all the challenges. One of the most interesting fights to witness was between Yellow Hawk and blocker. Yellow Hawk declines Blocker’s challenge to a knife battle. The gang eventually discovers the Quaid home and Rosalee’s deceased husband. They discover a devastated Rosalee and her deceased children inside the house. Rosalee agrees to accompany the company until their next stop at Fort Winslow, Colorado, after some persuasion. They are quickly ambushed by Comanche, who murder Dejardin and critically wound Woodson before forcing them to flee. Following the attack, Yellow Hawk persuades Blocker to release him and his family so that they may assist with future attacks.
Towards the end of the film, the viewers will be able to see experience a hurricane of emotions. One of the scenes that occurs towards the end is the demise of Yellow Hawk. Yellow Hawk dies soon before the company arrives at Yellow Hawk’s tribal grounds in Montana, where he is buried. As Blocker and his companions prepare to depart, a white man and his three ranch workers ride up, assert ownership of the area, and order Blocker and the others to leave with the chief’s body. Blocker notifies them of the president’s directives, only to be threatened with a pistol. When Blocker refuses, a bloody gunfight erupts. Black Hawk, Living Woman, Elk Woman, and corporal Thomas are all assassinated and buried with the chief.
The parting scene shows that Rosalee adopts Black Hawk’s son and they decide to go to Chicago. They were also accompanied by the Little Bear. This was one of the most emotional scenes of the entire film as they were bidding farewell to Blocker. Blocker gifted a book to Little Bear. An interesting twist was also seen towards the end that Blocker was accompanying them, giving a happy ending to the film.
