Before that happened, Yuuki was taken to the memories realm but could not see past some memories as it was not time yet. However, he got to find out that what has been known as shadows up to this point appears to be bugs that randomly occur like a virus.
He further found out that they were supposed to be eliminated by the world’s immune system but because of a mysterious individual. Those viruses are being used as weapons. This information helped him in the fight against the shadows as he successfully rescued Kiri.
The shadows seem to be attracted to Kiri and would pursue and try to kill her wherever she would try to go. So Yuki has to be nearly her at all times so he can protect her. Meanwhile, Kary wonders if Pecorine is really dead and finds it hard to believe.
The shadows continued with their march and moved towards Kiri. So her group devised a plan that would use Kiri as bait to draw the shadows out of town. It would put her at risk, but it is their only option at the moment, and Kiri willingly follows through with this strategy.

A horde of shadows led by a golem moves to wherever Kiri goes leaving her life in danger. Her group together with Yuki devised a plan to lure the shadows into one place away from town so that they could eliminate them without putting anyone’s life at risk.
Kiri willingly complies as she wants to make everyone happy, and now their plan is in action. Something seems to be off about Kirir, but no one seems to have noticed it at this point. Back in the Landosol Castle, Pecorine still tries to figure the way out, but things do not seem to be working so well for her.
Pecorin’s real name has been finally revealed as she asks the queen why she wants to be Landosol’s king. She doesn’t seem to be interested in talking about it with her. Instead, she pointed out how unfair the world had been to her and that she needed to use her own powers to get what she wanted.
Kiri managed to reach the lake where she was supposed to lure the shadows. So they now had to wait for the right moment to execute the final stage of their plan. The strange things that kept happening with Kiri’s body continued to happen once again just when she was about to flee from the shadows.
So she collapsed at the last moment leading to Yuki coming to her aid. Her body started to disintegrate while Yuki’s body started acting up once again. Another strange thing that followed this incident was when the shadows headed back to town, meaning that Makoto’s plan did not work effectively.
