Takeshi Konomi is a very well known name in the world of manga. During this year’s Jump, The Prince of Tennis manga was serialized on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1999 to 2008. The manga follows a middle school tennis player named Ryōma Echizen. Throughout the manga, we see Ryōma battling his rivals in order to reach the national tournament. The original manga got its television anime which ran from 2001-2005. It also got two anime films and a live-action film. The series has also received a musical stage series.
Konomi launched The New Prince of Tennis manga in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine in 2009. The story focuses on the events after the national tournament when Ryoma joins a group of middle school players at Japan’s top training camp for players under 17. The 24th volume of the manga was published by Shueisha on September 4, and the 25th volume will be published on January 4.
This ongoing sequel manga received m its own 2012 anime which was titled, The Prince of Tennis II. The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius 10 series that ran for five volumes.
