In The Curse of Oak Island, the Lagina Brothers have set forth on their mission to uncover the secrets of the Oak Island. Here, in the last episode, the team found pieces of wood that resembled polished wood used in ship railings. This was a huge find as it confirmed the presence of a ship sunken deep near the island.
They found these pieces of wood in the swamp, and the team is only fueled by this discovery to deep a full sweep to find the other remains of the sunken ship. If they are successful in their searches, they should find silver or even gold. In The Curse of Oak Island Season 8 Episode 22, we follow these searches as we inch closer to the possible biggest discovery of this century.
The Curse of Oak Island Season 8 Episode 22 Recap
The Curse of Oak Island Season 8 Episode 22, titled “Be There or T-Square,” starts off with the team heading back to the triangular swamp. Here they had found pieces of wood which the team aims to find the remains of. But, sadly, there was rain last night, causing disruptions in the excavation. While they were successfully able to find a piece of timber, they had to postpone the search for later. Meanwhile, back on Samuel Ball’s property, the team uncovers a wooden plank of sorts in the storage. This wood, along with a piece of metal they found a little earlier, could point out the possibility of a cellar door on the property.
Back in the War Room, the crew is shown a presentation deciphering the “la formule” by using a Freemason document. As it gets deciphered, the team has a possible location for a treasure chest. There are instructions on the “la formule,” which start from an altar. While they dig the location, they do not find anything significant. But that could possibly be because they were wrong about the location of the altar itself. Back during some excavation of the swamp, the team finds a very burnt piece of metal that could possibly be part of a ship railing. Lastly, the team finds a stonemason tool, probably used to make appropriate angles. By the end of the show, the piece of wood is carbon-dared to be somewhere around 1632-1638.
This was an amazing find as it is a clear indication of something happening on the island before the discovery of the money pit and 90-foot long tablet. So, the team decides to continue their search, onto possibly the biggest discovery of the century.
