While the introduction of Legendary Raids have been loads of fun, it’s been a while since we’ve had a Pokemon Go event. Well the wait is over as Pokemon Go plans to kick off the coming equinox! The weather’s getting cooler up North and a little warmer down South, which means both are in the perfect temperature range for some walking. After what feels like an eternity of raiding, we’re finally getting a good old fashioned Pokemon GO event! This one is called the “Pokemon Go Equinox event”, and from what we can tell, it’s going to be a good one.
Kicking off at 1PM PDT on the 22nd of September, the Pokemon GO Equinox event has four main features. First of all, we’re getting double Stardust from every Pokemon that is caught or hatched during the event. Second, we’ll be able to obtain “special” 2km eggs from Poke Stops and Gyms, which will have rare Pokemon inside. And as long as we’re walking, we might as well make the most of it with some awesomely egg-citing perks!
- X2 Stardust for catching, hatching – and most likely feeding
- Special 2km Eggs that hatch Chansey, Lavitar and Mareep
- X3 EXP for New Pokemon Bonus
- Special Boxes (In-Game Store) that give Lucky Eggs, Lures & SUPER INCUBATORS!
Now Super Incubators were an item that was found in the coding a few weeks ago in late August, and as we suspected, Super Incubators will reduce the hatch time of eggs, making hatching 1.5 times faster! Though most notably in that update was also the coding for more Shiny Effects and 3rd Generation Pokemon. Does that mean Pokemon Go plans to roll out Gen 3 ahead of schedule in the coming weeks? Time will tell, but for now let’s focus on the Event at hand!
Additionally with the Equinox Event, the New Pokemon Bonus will come in handy as Mewtwo Raids are slowly becoming more open to players. Though beyond that, the special 2km Eggs will help players acquire the super rare Ampharos (Mareep’s final evolution) and Blissey (Chansey’s even bulkier evolution).
Though the biggest draw will happen at the tail end of this event as after September 30th, the Legendary Dogs/ Beasts will switch locations giving players a chance to catch something completely new to their region! So stock up on your incubators and get your walking shoes out because it’s about to be a fun week and a half!
Are you guys excited for this amazing doubly bubbly event ? Lemme hear you out in comment or you can get connected with me on Snapchat-Vibsz16 and Instagram. Stay tuned.
POKEMONGO: UN-GLOBAL GOALS EVENT 2017!
Trainers, there is something new that was uncovered in the game’s download assets, this new piece of information comes in as a surprise, as we might be seeing a new event that is happening soon. A new in-game t-shirt has been found. The shirt features the UN Global Goals logo, comes in the two usual male and female variants – the images uncovered are pretty low-res and not much detail is visible, but hey it’s fine right.
The shirts sport the logo of the United Nations’ “Global Goals for Sustainable Development” initiative. Niantic has a history of teaming up the Global Goals team before. Last year they created 17 different PokeStops at January’s World Economic Forum to promote each of the initiative’s seventeen different goals. Which acts a great reminder for people in general.
What can we expect for this event? Well, we are not sure as of now, with all the non-traditional events (remember the Pikachu Hat Event?) that we have been having for some time it would be cool if we get a new double XP event or something else on the line of that.
With the t-shirt now added into the game, we could just see this event making its way to the masses over the coming weekend. The UN is holding a Global Goals Week from September 16th-23rd to promote….
