In an interesting turn of events, Niantic announced a global contest, which is pretty awesome, to say the least. In their efforts to push AR- based gameplay forward, Niantic is hosting an AR-Contest! This is a first of it’s kind of deal for Niantic.
The winner of this contest will be receiving a Pokemon Go Plus, and a Pokemon Go Poster signed by the Pokemon Go Team along with a sweet pair of Bluetooth earbuds (I hope they are the new Google Pixel Buds!).
To participate in the contest all you gotta do is, take an AR-Image of the Pokemon that you are encountering. The judging of the contest will be based on the quality of images that are being captured and is completely skill based.
There are a set of rules for this contest, you can read them over here There is a lengthier version of the rule set (when I say lengthy, trust me it is lengthy!) The most important rules that you need to remember are as follows:-
Snap Epic Pokemon GO AR photos and post them on Instagram using the hashtag #PokemonGOcontest
– The contest lasts until October 25, 2017
– no purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win this contest
– The contest is limited to countries where Pokemon GO has been officially released as of October 11, 2107
– In addition, the following countries are excluded from participation:THE BALKANS, BELARUS, BRAZIL, BURMA, CHINA, COTE D’IVOIRE (IVORY COAST), CRIMEA, CUBA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, IRAN, IRAQ, ITALY, LIBERIA, NORTH KOREA, PAKISTAN, QUEBEC, RUSSIA, SPAIN, SUDAN, SYRIA, TURKEY, AND ZIMBABWE.
– To be eligible for the contest, you must be at least the age of majority in your country and in the general sense, it’s not allowed to be related to Niantic, the Pokémon Company or the Pokémon Company International.
A special rule has been established for AR photos featuring real world people: Photos, where an individual appears in or is identifiable in the photo, will not be considered and will be deemed void.
Just Remember, when you send your entries, make sure your Gamer/Trainer tag is legibly visible and don’t post images like these! This being an online contest, people will troll Niantic and Pokemon Go a lot for sure! I can’t wait to see all the funny images that people will put up on #PokemonGOcontest
Pokemon GO: Game Master Updated Again! What’s New?
Well, now that we have reached an end to September officially, and it’s Pumpkin Spice Latte time again, we really hope that Niantic gives us a good event just like last year, for Halloween. We do have some ideas for a Halloween 2017 event in Pokemon Go, but that’s a subject for another day.
Earlier today, the GAME_MASTER file for Pokemon Go was updated, unfortunately not many significant changes for found, I was really hoping for some sort of update for Halloween. To my disappointment that was not the case this time around. So what changes were seen in the GAME_MASTER file exactly?
Almost all of the GAME_MASTER changed noted were aimed at one thing in the game. Preparing for the Safari Zone events in Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm, and Amstelveen. Well, that’s it not much for now.
I guess the Safari Zone events are wrapping up as summer has now ended, the event is not that exciting and more or less it is similar to the Equinox event that is bound to come to an end within the next 3 days. Well, anyways the Safari Zone event is a great chance for Pokemon Go trainers living in Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm, and Amstelveen to grab a Kangaskhan and Special 2KM Eggs during the duration of the event.
The Special Eggs that you will hatching might also contain Shiny Pichu, right now it is the only way in the game to obtain a Shiny Pichu. Various bonuses that trainer will be able to unlock at the event are summarized below.
An in-game medal,
A special 2 KM Egg with exciting rare hatches,
