Pokemon: Detective Pikachu film has got everyone talking about it. The movie is yet to be released, and it has been reported that a sequel is already in the works. The news was reported by The Hollywood Reported. The report revealed that Legendary Entertainment has already begun working on a sequel for Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. It is reported that Legendary Entertainment has brought in Oren Uziel (Sonic the Hedgehog film, The Clover Paradox, 22 Jump Street) to write the script for the sequel.

The first film will premiere in the United States on May 10. The movie will open in Japan in May. Warner Bros. will distribute the movie in North America, and TOHO is going to distribute the movie in Japan. Ryan Reynolds is going to play the role of Detective Pikachu. Justice Smith will play Tim Goodman, a teen who teams up with Pikachu to look for his missing father. Kathryn Newton as Lucy and Ken Watanabe will play Detective Yoshida. Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest), Chris Geere, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora, and Omar Chaparro are the other cast members.

The movie is being directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, Goosebumps). The script is written by Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy). The movie is based on the Detective Pikachu game, which was released in Japan in 2016. The rights for the live-action movie were acquired by Legendary Entertainment back in July 2016.
