Plot Of The Movie: What Was The Movie All About?
This South Korean masterpiece follows the story of a poor family that struggles to survive with their low-income jobs. The members of the family include the father named Ki-taek, the mother named Chung-sook, the son named Ki-woo, and the daughter named Ki-jung. The friend of Ki-woo named Min-hyuk gives the Kim family a scholar’s rock while leaving for abroad that is meant to bring in wealth. He also tells Ki-woo to pose as a University student and get a job at a wealthy house. Ki-woo does the same and gets the job of an English tutor for Da-hye, who is the daughter of the Park family.
He then gets his whole family employed at different positions in the house. The Kim family even gets the house by themselves when the Park family goes on a trip. However, their fun time at the house is interrupted when Moon-gwang arrives. She had been a long-time housekeeper before the Kim family got her fired. Moon-gwang comes to see her husband Geun-sae, who had been hiding in a secret basement for years.

She pleads with Chung-sook to keep him there, but she refuses. However, Moon learns the truth about the family and records their video, and threatens to expose them. Things get out of hand when the Parks arrive early due to a storm. The Kims trap Moon-gwang and Geun-sae in the basement in a rush. While secretly moving out of the house, the family hears Mr. Park commenting about Ki-taek’s smell. Mrs. Park hosts a birthday party for her son Da-song with the help of the Kim family. Although, no one has any idea that this party is going to become a nightmare soon.

Parasite Movie Ending Explained: What Happened In The End?
The movie had a rather emotional ending. However, to understand that, we need to know what happened at the house party. It all goes sideways when Ki-woo goes into the bunker and finds Moon-gwang dead. Meanwhile, Guen-sae attacks him, severely injuring him on his head, and runs away. He then runs into the party and stabs Ki-jung in order to take revenge for Moon-gwang’s death. On the other hand, Da-song goes into a traumatic seizure when he sees Guen-sae just like once before.
Things get more violent when Ki-taek kills Mr. Park after seeing his reaction towards the smell of Guen-sae and runs away. Choong-sook and Ki-woo are put on probation for committing fraud, whereas Ki-jung is dead after getting stabbed at the party. Ki-taek is hiding in the same bunker as he is wanted for the murder of Mr. Park. While recovering from his head injury, Ki-woo spies on the Park house that now belongs to a German family.
One day he discovers a flickering light from the house that is depicting a morse code. His father Ki-taek comes to the kitchen every night with the hope that his son will recognize his message. Ki-woo then writes a letter to his father that he will make enough money to buy that house one day. He also promises that he will get his family back together after he gets rich and buys the same house from the family living there. The movie was such a huge success that two sequels are in development. Moreover, a television series is also in the works.
