Brook is the musician of the Mugiwara Pirates and Creator of Skull Jokes. He is a skeleton that the Luffy found on board of a ghost ship after drifting into the Florian Triangle. He is a Devil Fruit user who ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, and is undead, having been brought back into a pseudo-immortal state because of its powers.
His current bounty is 83,000,000 Bellies.
Yomi Yomi no Mi:-
It is a Paramecia type Devil Fruit which enhances the user soul to the point where they resurrect following their first death, allowing them to live the next time and to use several other soul based abilities, making the user a Reviving Human.
Oda Sensei has already shown us how sad it is to see all your friends die and live on without them. That’s precisely what has already happened to Brook once. So this could very likely happen to him again with the straw hats which would be unfortunate still.
The desolate destiny that all immortals share, seeing their loved ones withering away while they stay alive and alone. Unless Brook will be at peace with the straw hats end and be able to deal with it, or Oda Sensei has to come up with something that makes Soul-King not all that immortal as he seems.
Can Brook Die?
Brook once stated that as long as his bones aren’t damaged (say, they were cut or crushed), he can reattach himself.
Soul King Brook yet goes through many life processes, and would even age as a result. His fruit is keeping him alive in his current state, but we know his fruit gave him a second life. Then there is the fact that milk is shown to heal injuries, but I don’t think it would fix decay. He is alive, and so his bones will at one point become so weak they can’t keep him going.
The way it appears is that Brook’s fruit essentially turned him into a Soul when he died. He controls his body for everyday use, but I don’t think even his body getting destroyed would kill him. The only way for him to die will be if his Soul is damaged, probably only by haki or sea prism stone.
One benefit of his Body is that because he is just comprised of lightly weighted bones, he can use his speed and lightweight to run across water, but, like all Devil Fruit users, he can still drown when submerged.
I’m interested as to whether brook can switch bodies even after his own body has rotted away.
