For those who have been keeping up to date with the One Piece manga, it will come as no surprise that Whitebeard will be making quite a few new appearances in the One Piece anime very soon. Furthermore, I was lucky enough to have had an exclusive interview with one of the anime’s voice actors who can’t wait for more Whitebeard.
However, this doesn’t mean that Whitebeard magically survived Marineford or has been brought back to life with a strange Devil Fruit. No, this Whitebeard return will be a much younger Whitebeard to the one we watched fight to save Ace. This is the Whitebeard who wasn’t captain yet and certainly wasn’t the worlds strongest man or a Yonko. These series of flash-backs of Whitebeard will be set in the time where the man was crewmates with fellow Yonko’s Big Mom and Kaido, which means this might be a very different Whitebeard indeed.
As I mentioned before, we have had an exclusive interview, which has been uploaded to Nerds4Life‘s YouTube channel, with One Piece’s Whitebeard and Dragon Ball Z’s Captain Ginyu voice actor R Bruce Elliott, earlier this year at Supanova Melbourne 2020. In the interview, Elliott spoke of how he has loved voice acting the adopted father of figure of Ace and that he can’t wait to return in that role in the near future, with Whitebeard returning to the One Piece anime.
However, due to events around the world, the One Piece anime has had some major delays and that has caused delays in Whitebeard’s return. Especially, in the English dubbed version of One Piece, which Elliott is part of. This sadly means that we may have to wait a little longer for Whitebeard’s return to the One Piece anime.
