On Star Trek: Discovery: Season 4 Episode 5, we’re going to see a very politics-fueled episode. If the previous chapter wasn’t full of action and interstellar politics, this one sure will be. For one part, with Ni’Var rejoining the Federation after Burnham brokering a diplomatic deal between Rillak and the Council. For another, Tilly and Adira must strive to convince their leadership to the new cadets at the Starfleet Academy.
Now that Ni’Var returned to the Federation, we have to see the diplomatic implications of this strategic alliance. After all, Rillak considers Ni’Var a threat to his ends, and he’s adamant in letting everybody know that he’s not happy with Ni’Var being there. That’s why Burnham had to mediate with everyone else. Moreover, we’re likely to see some more action from some other fronts. Now, without any further ado, let’s begin covering this interstellar topic here at Otakukart.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Episode 4 Recap
This episode of Star Trek: Discovery is title “All is Possible” and we gotta say it’s full of emotion. So hold on to your seats. The Qowat Milat is at a joint mission all while Ni’Var solidified its re-entry into the United Federation. Meanwhile, the Starfleet starship is pretty banged up. On a side note, Burnham tells the crew to take a rest while she reintroduces Ni’Var to the Federation. And Admiral Vance, who feels ill, asked Burnham to take the lead.
Academy Troubles
Adira and Tilly have to serve as instructors for the Starfleet Academy. But their new role is unwelcome amongst the cadets and recruits because of species diversity. —I guess that diversity resentment isn’t exclusive to the office space, huh? Anyway, Kovich wants to solve this diversity problem and sets up a training mission, but the whole thing goes kaput when the vessel transporting Adira, Tilly, and the trainees crashes horribly in a remote zone.
As if that’s not enough, they are assaulted by a beast, and Tilly must seek help, leaving her leadership questionable in front of the cadets who already think less of her. After that, Adira and Tilly have a hard time reconciling their problems with the recruits as they make their way back after that troubled adventure. Not so long after, the USS Armstrong arrives to rescue them, and Kovich offers Tilly a teaching job at the Starfleet Academy despite her failure to lead the cadets.
Interstellar Politics
Time to talk interstellar politics here at Star Trek: Discovery. Ni’Var is now a member of the Federation. Yes. But that doesn’t mean that there are some people who aren’t happy with that. After all, President T’Rina wants a legal mechanism to leave the Federation in case the circumstances aren’t in their favor. So, Ni’Var ponders their membership because the Federation head, President Rillak, considers Ni’Var a threat to his goals.
Burnham’s Ascension to The Top
With Ni’Var and the Council all tense, Burnham tries to mediate between the two. And her brokerage works. Because Ni’Var ends up rejoining the alliance. Meanwhile, though Burnham is happy with the results of her diplomatic effort, she slams Rillak for his dishonesty. In the end, she talks to Tilly, realizing that her teaching job at the Starfleet Academy is just what she needs. Despite her departure, Burnham knows that Tilly will always be there, at her disposal if she ever needs her assistance.
