After Lupin the Third Part 5‘s last episode was aired last September, fans are expecting more content for their favorite franchise. Luckily, there will be a new content and it will be out early next year. A TV special for Lupin the Third will be available in Japan this winter 2019. What’s more interesting is that the main character will have a nice outfit change.
As per Lupin the Third‘s official Twitter account, a new TV special for the franchise was announced. The release date would be on Winter 2019, with earliest date possible being late December this year and the latest date possible being March next year. We will also see a change of outfit as Lupin will be wearing a black suit rather than his iconic red suit. The next TV special will be broadcasted on NTV. So far, this will be the 26th anime special for the series.
TMS Entertainment, which is involved with the production of series like Detective Conan, Cardfight!! Vanguard, Saint Seiya, and a bunch of Lupin specials will be handling this episode. Jun Kawagoe will be directing the episode. He will be joined by Takehiko Hata as the writer, Hirotaka Marufuji as character design chief and the chief animation director, and Yuji Ohno heading the music department.
Lupin the Third Part 5 is the latest anime adaptation for the Lupin the Third franchise. The story is about Arsene Lupin III and the location is set in modern-day France. The 24-episode adaptation is divided into four different arcs, running from April 4 to September 18 this year. A Japanese DVD/Blu-ray set was released containing the memorial episode titled “Is Lupin Still Burning?” last July 25, 2018, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the manga. The manga was written and illustrated by Kazuhiko Kato and was first appeared on August 10, 1967, in Weekly Manga Action.
