Netflix has finally shared the first look at the Korean remake of the hit Spanish Tv series, “Money Heist.” Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area featuring Yoo Ji Tae, Park Hae Soo, Jeon Jong Seo, Lee Won Jong, Kim Jo Hoon, and many more. The teaser trailer shared by Netflix gives a glimpse inside the Korean setting of the crime drama. Also, viewers get to see the cast transform into the infamous “Money Heist” characters.
A remake of the famous Spanish crime-heist series La Casa Da Papel, the Korean version was announced a year ago. Due to the popularity of Kdramas and Money Heist globally, the drama was already hyped enough to make fans wait for a year. Now, fans are rushing to watch the teaser repeatedly.
Although Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area will follow the same plot as the original series, the heist will be set in Korea. Moreover, fans are looking forward to seeing a Kdrama twist in the show.
A criminal mastermind infamously known as The Professor (Yoo Ji Tae) will plan the biggest heist in recorded history with a team of equally capable criminals.
Money Heist: Korea – Economic Joint Area Teaser
On 18 January 2022, Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming “Money Heist: Korea- Economic Joint Area.” The teaser opens with the professor staring at a wall full of traditional Korean masks and the iconic Salvador Dali mask. As he plans a heist, he most toward the wall to choose a mask. However, the camera changes its course before seeing him picking a mask.
The camera then takes us to a control room, revealing Seon Woo-jin (Kim Yun Jin), the head of the Crisis Negotiation Team. As she gives an intense look in the camera, we move forward to meet the other cast. as the teaser ends, the video introduces us to the clan with their code names.

Money Heist: Korea Cast and Characters
Yoo Ji Tae (When My Love Blooms, Different Dreams) is taking on the role of the infamous “The Professor.” Her clan includes Jeon Jong Seo (Burning, The Call), who will transform into the fearless Tokyo. Park Hae Soo (Squid Game, Chimera) is playing Berlin. Lee Won Jong (Lie After Lie) will take on the role of Moscow. Kim Ji Hoon (Flower Of Evil, Rich Family’s Son) will play Denver. Jang Yoon Ju (Three Sisters) will play Nairobi in Korea’s Money Heist. Lee Hyun Woo (The Liar and His Lover) will transform into Rio. Kim Ji Hoon (The Good Detective) and Lee Gyu Ho (Dr. Romantic 2) will play brothers Helsinki and Oslo.
Kim Yoon Jin (Ode To My Father, Miss Ma Nemesis) will also join the show; she will play Seon Woo Jin. Kim Sung Ho (Fight For My Way), Park Myung Hoon (Crash Landing On You, Parasite), Lee Joo Bin (She Would Never Know) will be playing Cha Mu Hyeok, Jo Yeong Min, and Yun Mi Seon, respectively.
In the Korean version of Money Heist, viewers will also see a new character, Seoul, portrayed by Im Ji Yeon (Welcome To life).
Kim Hong Seon of “The Guest” and “L.U.C.A. The Beginning” is directing the drama. On the other hand, Ryu Yong Jae (My Holo Love, Psychopath Diary) will serve as the screenwriter.
Money Heist Korean Remake Release Date
Netflix has not shared the specific release date for Money Heist: Korea- Economic Joint Area. Although reports claim that the giant streamer will air the Korean remake this year. The filming began in May 2021.
In November 2020, Deadline shared that Alex Pina, the creator of the original “Money Heist” series, will serve as one of the executive producers of the Korean remake.
La Casa Da Papel or Money heist aired its final season this December. After 5 critically acclaimed seasons, the Spanish Tv show came to an end. The unmeasurable success led the show to prepare a spin-off, Berlin. It will primarily focus on Berlin and his backstory. The spin-off will arrive on Netflix in 2023.
