This is the first naruto movie, and it came out on August 21, 2004. This movie is 82 minutes long, and the events of this movie take place after Naruto episode 101. The movie revolves around Team 7, assigned as the bodyguards of an actress, Yukie. Team 7 later finds out that Yukie’s real name is Koyuki Kazahana. She is actually the princess of Land of Snow. Her uncle, Doto, is behind her father’s murder and wants to get rid of her too. Further, Doto also wants Yukie’s crystal necklace, which he believes to be the key to the hidden wealth of Yukie’s father. The movie has some good fight scenes, and not to forget the Seven-Colored Rasengan, which is exclusive to this movie only.
Naruto the Movie: Legend of the Stone of Gelel
Legend of the Stone of Gelei comes after the first movie, Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow. This 97-minute long movie was released one year after the first movie on August 6, 2005. After episode 106 of Naruto Part 1, the events of this movie take place. Naruto, Sakura along Shikamaru go on a mission to track down a lost ferret. However, while on the mission, they come across a mysterious knight, Temujin. Then they meet Haido, who is searching for the mine of Gelel Stone. Haido wants to use the mysterious stone’s power for making the world “peaceful” but Naruto and his friends stop his evil plans. This movie also has no connection to the anime’s plot but if you want to see a fight between shinobi and armored soldiers, then go for it. Further, this movie also features a unique orange and green Rasengan.
Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom
Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom is the third one in the Naruto movies watch order. The events of this movie take place after Sasuke Uchiha deserts Konoha thus, Team 7’s Uchiha boy won’t be available in this movie. This third Naruto movie came out on 5 August 2006 and is 95 minutes long. In this movie, Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto, along with Rock Lee, go on a B-grade mission, where they need to protect Hikaru and Michiru, the royalty of the Land of the Moon. But upon reaching that place, the shinobi group discovers the greedy minister, Shabadaba, planned a coup d’etat against Kakeru, the present king. Thus, Naruto and his friends fight against Shabadaba. Being a Naruto movie, this is full of action, and like anime, this movie also teaches a life lesson. In this movie, we learn people, especially the close ones are more important than wealth.
Naruto Shippuden the Movie
The fourth Naruto movie and the first Naruto Shippuden movie. This movie was released on August 4, 2007. This movie begins with the funeral of Naruto Uzumaki’s death. After the funeral, the movie moves back a few days early when Naruto and his friends were assigned to protect the priestess Shion and escort her to a shrine where a demon Moryo’s body is kept. Moryo is a demon who plans to conquer the whole world and wants to finish Shion. As the priestess is the only person capable of stopping the demon. On this journey, Shion reveals her ability to see the future and predicts Naruto will die. However, knowing about his “fate”, Naruto still helps Shion to destroy the demon. Further, Shion uses her powers to change Naruto’s fate and also offers him to be the father of her child. To which Naruto agrees unknowing what she actually wanted.
Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds
On 2 August 2008, Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds, the fifth movie installment in the series, came out. The film begins with the people from Sky Village attack Konoha as an act of vengeance for Konoha’s attack during the Second Great Shinobi War. However, Naruto and his friends, along with Doctor Shinno and Amaru help them get back to their village. Upon reaching, they see the sky village burning, and the leaf shinobis help to save the village. Soon Naruto finds out Doctor Shinno sealed Reibi, the zero-tailed beast inside Amaru. The doctor has been researching the beast’s dark powers and the villages for years. Soon Sasuke also arrives there looking for Doctor Shinno and retrieve for his reincarnation Jutsu scroll to help Orochimaru. Sasuke retrieves the scroll and also helps Naruto defeating the beast. However, the movie is also non-canon, and the events take place after Shippuden episode 71.
Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Will of Fire
After the Naruto Shippuden Episode 121, the sixth film takes place in the Naruto Movies watch order. The movie came out on August 1, 2009, and is 96 minutes long. In this movie, the shinobis with Kekkei Genkai begin disappearing from all the Five Great Shinobi Nations except for Konohagakure. Therefore, the other nation believes the Hidden Leaf Village is behind these events, and if the Konoha doesn’t prove their innocence, the other villages will destroy Konoha. However, soon Kakashi Hatake of the Hidden Leaf gets kidnapped. After the leaf shinobi’s disappearance, it’s revealed that a missing-nin from Konoha, Hiruko was behind all this, and he plans to steal Kakashi’s Kekkei Genkai, Sharingan, to attain immortality. Thus, Naruto and his friends go on a mission to defeat Hiruko and save Kakashi.
Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower
Taking place after the events of episode 143, Naruto along with his new Team 7 go on a mission to capture the missing-nin, Mukade. However, on this mission, Naruto and Yamato end up twenty years in the past. Naruto meets the queen of Loran, Sara, and further gets to know that Sara’s minister is none other than Mukade. Mukade appeared six years earlier than Naruto and seeks to attain the power of Ryūmyaku. However, soon Minato Namikaze and young Kakashi Hatake arrive there, and they help Naruto to Mukade. This movie is also non-canon cause Naruto didn’t know the Fourth Hokage when he met him in episode 168 during the Pain Arc. But if this movie was canon, then Naruto would have known Minato, as he even performed a Father-Son Rasengan with Minato. Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower is the seventh Naruto movie released on July 31, 2010.
Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison
The eighth film in the Naruto movies watch order is Blood Prison. This 103 minutes long movie was released on July 27, 2011. In this movie, Naruto Uzumaki is charged with the crime of attacking the Fourth Raikage. He’s sent to the Sky Prison to serve for his “crime”. There Naruto gets to know from Ryuzetsu, a Hidden Grass Black Ops shinobi, that Mui, the prison head, was behind the fake charges on Naruto. Road to Ninja is the ninth Naruto movie, and the movie takes place after Shippuden episode 251. This 109 minutes long Naruto movie came out on July 28, 2012. This movie doesn’t have any connections or the events of the main story. In this movie, Naruto feels lonely after seeing his friends with their families. Soon Tobi confronts Naruto and Sakura in the village, where Tobi tests a genjutsu, Limited Tsukuyomi, on them. This genjutsu is a prototype version of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, where they end up in a world full of opposites. There Sakura’s parents were Konoha’s heroes who died, and Naruto’s parents were still alive. Further, Sasuke Uchiha was also present in this world, and Naruto’s other friends were also acting weird. The Last: Naruto the Movie
This movie is set after the events of the Fourth Great Shinobi War. This movie came out on 6 December 2014 and is the first canon movie in the Naruto series. In this movie, we see Hamura Otsutsuki’s descendant, Toneri, trying to destroy the Earth. He further wants to marry Hinata Hyuga. Everyone spots the moon is breaking apart and soon will collide with Earth. Naruto and his friends set on a mission to stop the catastrophe. On this journey to stop, Toneri, naruto, and Hinata develops a romantic relationship. At the end of the movie, Naruto ties the knot with Hinata Hyuga. Boruto: Naruto the Movie
The last movie in the Naruto series, which came out on August 7, 2015. Boruto: Naruto the Movie is also a canon, and the movie takes place eleven years after the events of The Last: Naruto the Movie. Naruto is now the Seventh Hokage and married to Hinata, with whom he has two kids, Boruto and Himawari. The story revolves around Boruto Uzumaki, who is a skilled shinobi. But he’s angry with his father, Naruto, who doesn’t depend on time with him because of his duties as Hokage. Boruto begins training under his father’s rival, Sasuke Uchiha. However, a dark cloud is roaming on the shinobi world again. As Momoshiki Otsutsuki attacks the shinobi world to farm another Divine Tree and captures Naruto. Thus, Boruto goes to protect the world and his father. This movie’s plot is also there in the anime’s sequel series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
