Narcos (Mexico) Season 4: Release Date Confirmed, Trailer, News Updates

For a moment fans weren’t sure of Narcos Season 4 after the tragic murder of location scout Carlos Munoz Portal in Colombia. But that’s history and as you know Narcos Season 4 is coming, minus Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal). So naturally, Narcos Mexico has cast a new DEA Agent who gets involved in the dirt of drug war at Mexico and a new antagonist also has been cast, following the busting of Cali Cartel.

Narcos Mexico as the tagline gives away, is not only shot in Mexico but also based in Mexico. It explores the origins of Drug War, the 80’s of Guadalajara Cartel in Mexico. Michael Peña and Diego Luna will star in Narcos Mexico as leads. It should be mentioned here that Season 4 of Narcos was ordered back in 2016 by Netflix along with Season 3.

Narcos Mexico: Release Date And Trailer

As was revealed in the trailer, Narcos Mexico is coming soon to Netflix. This Season will trace the origins of Blow business in Mexico. So we won’t see the usual Colombian setting this time around. Narcos Season 4 will air on Netflix on November 16th. All the 10 episode will, of course, be available at once. In the trailer, we are promised a “New county, new cartel, and new Narcos.” So the hype knows no bounds. The first subtitle that we see in the trailer is, “Begin.” Deigo Luna and Michael Peña are then introduced to us in a bloody setting, and so starts the cat-mouse chase, killings, blasts, etc. All this and more is reminiscent of Narcos. But boy, are we going to miss Pedro Pascal this time around, which brings us to the topic of the cast.

Narcos Season 4: Cast
Diego Luna is cast as ruthless 1980’s Felix Gallardo, the Kingpin of Mexico’s Blow business. He’d laid a sophisticated system that was immune to any intelligence and attacks by DEA. So Kiki portrayed by Michael Peña finds himself dumbfounded at the very first instance. Alyssa Diaz is cast as Mika Camarena, Kiki’s wife. Besides these, Aaron Staton is cast as Butch Sears. Aaron is from Mad Men fame. Alejandro Edda is cast as Joaquin Chapo Guzman; he’s from Fear of The Walking Dead fame.

We’ll also see:
Alfonso Dosal as Benjamin Arellano Felix
Clark Freeman as Ed Heath
Ernesto Alterio as Salvador Osuna Nava
Fermin Martinez as Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno (“El Azul”)
Fernanda Urrejola as Maria Elvira
Gerardo Taracena as Pablo Acosta
Gorka Lasaosa as Hector Palma

Narcos Season 4: News Updates

Following the tragedy of Carlos Munoz Portal’s murder, Pedro Pascal (Javier Peña) issued a statement saying doing Narcos will be fun as long as it was safe to do it. Carlos was shot dead near San Bartolo Actopan, Colombia. But soon fears were brushed off by the makers, promising us a more thrilling Narcos than ever.
Nevertheless, they decided to move to Mexico for Season 4. Eric Newman, the creator, spoke about Narcos Mexico and according to him:

“Past a certain point you realize that you shut down the Miami-Caribbean corridor where they were bringing all their cocaine in for years, and that cocaine is going to find another way in.”

“There is definitely a natural passing of the torch to Mexico, who at the time was already very successful as heroin and marijuana smugglers. It makes perfect sense that you would employ what they call the Mexican Trampoline to bounce cocaine into the States.”

Let’s hope it continues to live up to this hype this Season too.
