Just a few weeks after ending its third season, My Hero Academia has been chosen as the next project for Holywood. Folks from Legendary Entertainment are planning to make a live-action adaptation from Kohei Horikoshi’s successful manga My Hero Academia. What are we going to expect for this bold endeavor from one of Holywood’s biggest media company?
My Hero Academia Live Action Adaptation Confirmed
Live-action adaptation of famous anime or manga series is quite a hard topic to talk about among its communities. There’s a valid reason for this, as the majority of those who attempted to capture the charm of 2D animation into real life had failed to do so. Majority of these attempts left a bitter taste after and fans don’t even want to talk about it. But will it happen to My Hero Academia?
With the success of its third season, the announcement of season 4, and the huge success of its first ever movie, a live-action adaptation is not a surprising announcement. According to Nerdist, the film production will be handled by Legendary Pictures (or simply known as Legendary) and will be supervised by Alex Garcia (known for Kong: Skull Island) and Jay Ashenfelter (known for Pacific Rim: Uprising). Legendary Pictures’ biggest movies includes The Dark Knight, 300, Clash of the Titans, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel, Godzilla, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Warcraft, and The Hangover.
Fans are quick to comment on the subject. One Reddit user called Graphica-Danger commented “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Cry while laughing? Laughing while crying? Cry flat out like Deku does?” Some already see the cast in their mind, with user EatSomeEggs recommending Nicolas Cage as Aizawa while user Strangeting wants Michael Cera as Deku. Some fans want Gordon Ramsay to play Bakugo because of the uncanny resemblance of hair personality (Bakugo is good with a knife too), but it is obviously a joke.
Let me know at the comments below what do you think about this news. Feel free to share your own set of a dream cast for this movie, I would love to know.
