Recap For Midsomer Murders Season 22 Episode 1
Midsomer Murders Season 22 Episode 1 was titled “The Wolf Hunter of Little Worthy”. The episode sees Steve a local photographer taking part in an urban myth competition. He comes with his creation of The Wolf Hunter. The competition takes place at a Cafe and hosted by Mel. The entrants came up with their own unique pieces of Urban Myth.
While everything is going right an unexpected murder takes place. On the other hand, Steve’s Wolf Hunter goes unanimously popular on the web as it is suspected to be the one behind it. People from around the country visit Little Worthy Woods to catch a sight of it. Detectives investigate the case as the Urban Myth is considered to be the reason behind it as it grows popularity after winning the competition. Plus, the murder took place quite significantly similar to the myth.
The investigation is taken to the depths interviewing the suspects especially keeping eye on Steve and how he gets the idea about his piece. The investigation initially reveals that it might be about the killer’s vengeance but the ending doesn’t seem to provide the same case. The Wolf Hunter’s costume and designs and story eventually lead up to none other than Mel Wallace. The same women who initially helped the officers in the beginning and hosted the competition.
The end turned out to be the same. Mel Wallace somehow turned out to be The Wolf Hunter. She is caught by the Detectives just at the moment she is about to make her next kills. Mel confesses about being abandoned by the people she loved being the motive behind her dressing up like this and going on a killing spree. They left them after the exhibition and she felt all alone much like how her parents did. She confessed to relate to The Wolf Hunter’s story which led her to dress up like him. The episode ended with Mel finally reuniting with her parents and putting an end to the story of The Wolf Hunter.
