Megalo Box English Dub Release Date And Staff Revealed

Megalo Box has been one of the most talked about anime series last April. It has been one of the unexpected hits during its season. That’s why it is not surprising at all when Viz Media announced that the anime would be having a Megalo Box English dub version at the end of the year.

Megalo Box English Dub Staff And Release Date

During the Anime NYC convention last Saturday, Megalo Box English dub was announced along with the staff and the release date. The cast will be directed by ADR director Ezra Weisz. The main character, Joe (or Junk Dog) will be voiced by Kaiji Tang, which is known for voicing Santana in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Archer in Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, and Schmitt in Sword Art Online.

Jason Marnocha, who is known for voicing Megatron in Transformers: Combiner War will be voicing Coach Nanbu. Erica Mendez, known for voicing Gon Freecs in Hunter X Hunter will be voicing Sachio. Lex Lang, the voice of Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star will be voicing Yuri while Erika Harlacher, the voice of Videl in Dragon Ball Super will be voicing Yukiko. Megalo Box English dub will be released on December 8 this year on Adult Swim’s Toonami block, as per Anime News Network.

Megalo Box is an anime tribute for the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe. The anime was produced by TMS Entertainment, who also produced the second season of the original Ashina no Joe anime. The story is about Junk Dog, who is a Megalo Boxer under Coach Nanbu. Prior to meeting Yuri, Junk Dog and Nanbu were throwing matches for money. However, when Junk Dog met the Megalo Box champion, he started his journey in joining the Megalonia and adapting the ring name “Joe.” The last episode was aired last June 29, 2018.
