The last we had heard, whether or not Manifest was even coming back for a Season 4 was in great doubt. Around a month ago, fans were saddened by the news that Netflix has refused to help Flight 828. NBC had failed to find a new home for Manifest after that. NBC had already cancelled the show, after which Netflix had taken the reins. When Netflix also dropped the reins, it was thought that only a miracle could save the show. Well, it is safe to say that the said miracle has indeed happened. And, of course, the huge fan support is to thank. I mean, who can not demand for the show’s return, especially after the cliffhanger they left us within the last episode! Looks like our favourite flight is going to be back for another season full of thrilling mystery.
Manifest is a famous supernatural TV series that was created by Jeff Rake. The first season premiered back in 2018 September on NBC. The story revolves around the passengers and crew of Flight 828 – a commercial airliner – which mysteriously reappeared after missing for 5 years and after all its passengers were deemed to have died. Cast members include Melissa Roxburgh, Athena Karkanis, Luna Blaise, Parveen Kaur, Holly Taylor, Matt Long, Jack Messina, J.R. Ramirez, and Josh Dallas. The first season had 16 episodes, and the third season premiered on 1st April. And, just last June, the series was “cancelled.”
Manifest: The Plot
A normal airplane flight from Jamaica to New York takes a dark turn. The Montego Air Flight 828 experiences severe turbulence on its way from Jamaica to New York, but they safely land – or so they think. All the 191 passengers, and the crew, learn from Robert Vance, director of the NSA, that they were actually missing for the past 1 and a half years. And thus, were presumed dead. The passengers try to re-acclimatize their ways into their lives and try to ease into life as it was with their loved ones. But nothing is the same anymore. In addition to that, they also start hearing voices and seeing futuristic visions – which is referred to as “callings.”
Manifest Season 3: How Did It End?
This is gonna be a major spoiler for those who yet haven’t had a chance to see the last season, so you guys can skip this part! But if you did watch it but needed something to jog your memory…read on! The final episode of Season 3 begins with Michael in the middle of such a calling. In her vision, she saw blood inside flight 828. This she understands is a way of saying that someone from amongst the passengers is going to be harmed soon. Ben has arrived at the headquarters of Eureka, on the other hand, and goes inside so that he can stop the NSA from continuing their experiments on the tailfin. Ben and Vance planned to steal the tailfin, while Grace and Olive try to go through Cal’s drawings for clues. Cal had disappeared after touching the tailfin.

Dr. Gupta allowed them to take the tailfin away after seeing and recognising a constellation that reminded her of her late grandmother. Adrian and Eagan, on the other hand, claimed that the Stones are the traitors – inciting all the passengers. Vance’s son is held hostage by Eagan and one other passenger. Michaela saw another calling regarding Adrian and comes to the conclusion that he is linked. Her calling led her to Vance’s house, and she is flanked by Zeke, Drea, and Jared.
Eagan is finally arrested. Jared figured out that it is Saanvi who killed the Major and that Michaela knew about it. Saanvi redeemed herself after saving Ben and helping him to put the tailfin in the Ocean. But although it didn’t bring Cal back, she began to experience callings again. According to Saanvi’s callings: someone is still in danger, and they need to go back home soon. Angelina, who now has become a sort of a religious fanatic, and is also inspired by Adrian to go to her guardian angel, the baby Eden. As a result, Angelina kidnaps Eden and stabs Grace.
Cal returns as an adult, and while holding his mother’s dying body, he reveals that he knows what to do next. The show ends when Captain Bill Daly, the Captain of Flight 828, reappears in the cockpit and disappears with what is left of the aircraft.

Manifest Season 4: When Will It Be Released?
As though there is no official date for Manifest Season 4, it is safe to say that it is indeed coming back! According to Entertainment Weekly, the creator Jeff Rake was inclining towards a movie rather than Season 4 of Manifest. He also says that he was hoping for 6 seasons, but now that the future of the show is uncertain, he is going to take what he will get. Almost a month after his interview, where he was lamenting for the future of Manifest, things got interesting.
One could say that NBC has had a change of heart. A huge reason behind this could be the fact that the show remained on the Top 10 of Netflix’s Top Shows, and not to mention the huge response from fans, who trended the hashtag, SaveManifest on Twitter. Apparently, things have changed rapidly at NBC, and it is rethinking its decisions. Good Girls got cancelled, Law & Order: For the Defence was cancelled. So, with the available money and resource, there is more of a chance of a Manifest revival! People are hoping that how Lucifer and Brooklyn 99 were revived, so would be Manifest! Rake too hinted towards this possibility in a tweet:
‘Manifest' Season 4? It might actually happen, thanks to the show's passionate fans • BGR https://t.co/yf2lDcpGa9

Although, very sadly, we don’t know the exact schedule. But if it does get picked up now, it is safe to say that the timeline will revert back to what it was supposed to be – had not for the cancellation. Although we are 90% positive about Manifest Season 4; currently, we feel something like this:
