Dragon Ball Super: Broly is one of the last anticipated anime movies of this year, and the two trailers that we have had so far have done a great job by hyping everyone up. I’m looking forward to this movie a lot.
This is partly because it has been a lot of time since we’ve had some Dragon Ball action, and of course, because this is a big change for the Dragon Ball series itself. As you guys may know already, Dragon Ball Super: Broly is a sequel to the Tournament of Power. So, this movie will directly tie to the main story line of Dragon Ball Super. If Super’s anime ever returns, I think the Broly story is going to be the very first arc.
This is understandable, as they did the same with Dragon Ball Super when it came out as well. As far as an anime return goes, it is probably going to be back in 2019. If you’ve been following Otakukart regularly, I reported earlier that Jump Festa has a Dragon Ball Super panel, and it takes place after the Japan premiere of the Super movie so that it won’t be more promotional content for the movie. We’ll likely see an anime announcement there.
Dragon Ball Super: Broly Release Date Updates
Coming over to the release date, I think you all know that the movie will premiere in Japan on December 14, 2018. The World Premiere of the movie will take place on November 14, 2018, at the Nippon Budokan event, which will be held in Tokyo. Only 1000 guests will be allowed to watch the movie there, but of course, once it airs, spoilers will be absolutely everywhere on the internet.
In the US, the movie will premiere on January 16, 2019, which is just over a month after the Japan premiere. Meanwhile, the movie will premiere across cinemas in New Zealand, and Australia on January 24, 2019. This is a fair release date. If you think about it, it is still early compared to Resurrection F, and Battle of Gods. I’m glad they’re going for an early release this time.
