The Magic: The Gathering is originally a Japanese card game that is going to receive a special cinematic which will be produced by Wit Studio (the produced first three seasons of Attack On Titan, Owari no Seraph, Vinland Saga, Spy x Family, Pokemon movies et cetera). The cinematic will be released for its new game’s upcoming expansion known as Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, which is set to release on February 15. The animation will also feature a new song from the Japanese band called ‘Ling Tosite Sigure’.
This game gives an experience of Kamigawa, which is a world where magic meets technology! Neon Dynasty successfully captures the best sides of each player, character, creature, land, and artifact. It is based in the future. The cinematic, which has been released recently, captures the essence of the game!

“In Kamigawa, tradition, and technology are not opposing forces. They go hand in hand. This is the future of our world. The dazzling cinematic with amazing graphics starts with this essence! In Kamigawa, they do not fight for pride, they fight for progress.” At this part of the cinematic, technology emerges from plants, and yet, a beautiful dear with cherry blossoms on its antlers appears through wires and technology.
“Humans are the power machines with the magic of our ancestors. We go fast, we fly high, and we glow tremendously. All of us together, we embrace the dawn of the new era and welcome “her” home.” At this point, the two dragons emerge from the city lights and rise above into the night sky, and appear in front of a mysterious swordsman. “Our future starts here” at this part, the narration ends at the logo of the game appears with a catchphrase saying, “The future is bright, light it up!”
The cinematic’s staff includes famous people such as maxilla’s Yuki Kamiya as the director, storyboarder and unit director, Ebisu Takuma as the character designer and animation director, Masaru Hashimoto as the color designer, Hirofumi Sakagami as the art director, and Keisuke Nozawa as the photography director. Masanobu Hiraoka did the gorgeous special effects animation, while maxilla’s Matsuno Takahito and Charles Chung were in charge of the Three-Dimensional Computer Graphics. The cinematic truly features how amazing the 3D graphics are. It’ll make the players feel as if they’re inside the game!

Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming set – Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, is the return of a popular card game that was introduced back in 2004. The original set was heavily inspired by Japanese historical aesthetics, and it featured deities, kami (gods and spirits), ninjas, samurais, and even animal spirits. This time, the game of Neon Dynasty is going to have an amazing futuristic and cyberpunk feel to it while still retaining the old traditional, recognizable art form. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty will be released on February 18, 2022. Pre-release events of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty started on February 10, with the release of cinematic.
